Nothing special for the prices. Calamari was mostly tentacles offered hot peppers in it for a few dollar more. Great way to up sale while most restaurants just give them to you. Pork chop was a little tough like it was reheated. Chicken Marcella was not bad. Sirloin steak was good. I have been going to this restaurant way back when they were in Bridgeport. It was always good. New owners took over, maybe they are trying to get it straight. I’ll try it again in a few months

Under new ownership… And it shows. Not even close to the original. Very slow service. It wasn’t even that busy. Food is now average after a long wait to get it. After I got home, I noticed I was charged twice for a 1/2 portion of pasta.$14!!! It was way undercooked and a 1/2 portion you can cup your hands and hold it all. One of the desserts we ordered on the waiter’s recommendation
was inedible and sent back. Very disappointing, as we used to be there all the time, needless to say, we won’t be back. Go to Lafortuna, Ritrovo, Emma’s Pavillion or Antonio’s original. All of these never disappoint.

We’ve been fortunate to eat all over the world including at Michelin rated restaurants here and abroad and so we know what we’re talking about when we say this place is awesome. The food is absolutely spectacular and the service was wonderful. We had a new waitstaff member and we know this because she told us and was completely honest with us about recommendations on the menu and urged us to try items that we otherwise wouldn’t have. What a meal it turned out to be. The four of us all ordered different items and I tentatively ordered a steak because I’ve had bad luck getting steak in Connecticut lately and all I can say is this chef knows how to select meat and cook it. Absolutely delicious. The only problem is sometimes getting a reservation because it’s not a huge place so it fills up. It has to be one of the true hidden gems of Connecticut.

When you want a total family experience and fresh, hot off the stove, delicious Italian meal, La Scogliera is the place to be. It has a small dining room with about 14 tables, depending on the settings. There’s also a well stocked, separated bar area with seating at the counter and a few more small tables for dining.
The food is simply delicious no matter what you order, either off the normal menu, or from their daily specials. They clearly state on their menu that it takes time for their foods to be prepared, so after ordering, be patient until that foods comes out to you hot and delicious. It’ll be worth the wait.

The wait staff is always on alert and very attentive to your needs.
This tucked away restaurant on River Road in Shelton, CT has now become a favorite spot for me, even though it’s two towns away from my home. I’ve been inviting friends to join me there for dinner and they all have the same positive opinion of this place. If you don’t want to dine in, they also have take out service which is how I first ordered from this place during the pandemic. The food was still nice and hot when I got home.

I highly recommend La Scogliera to anyone who’s looking for a great dining experience, where they can have a quiet conversation during dinner, without the frantic hustle and bustle of a chain restaurant. Enjoy.

Our first time here. I like the casual chill atmosphere. We also, really liked our server. The food was just ok. Also, if you’d like to make any changes, buyer beware. It’s an extra $10 for “housemade” spaghetti – half a portion, but they don’t tell you up front. You have to ask. I’ve had “house made fresh pasta” and they don’t charge extra it just comes that way!

I’m just a Nashville girl, on a work trip, stumbling across this delightful AUTHENTIC Italian restaurant, humbly begging you to try the cake that is baked in house by the owner. I got the white chocolate with almond and coconut cake to go, and had to forcibly stop myself from eating it all in the hotel room all in one go. Not sweet at all, but creamy, rich and dense with toasted almond. It made this three-day work trip worth it.

I also had the red snapper with mussels and clams. It was great, but sooo much food after grilled octopus, calamari, and an antipasto.

Anyway. 10/10 go here.
