Today we did what we always do — support a local business
We went to dinner at La Salvadoreña Restaurant truly wanting to love it.
And here’s the honest truth: the food was INCREDIBLE. Full stop. Flavorful, authentic, and clearly made with care.
Unfortunately, the dining experience itself really missed the mark. The restaurant was freezing cold and felt unwelcoming. While the waitress was kind, she seemed very distracted. There was only one other table in the restaurant, and they already had their food. We ordered drinks that were forgotten, and we eventually had to get them ourselves.
Halfway through our meal, we felt uncomfortable enough that we wanted to leave. I had to go find the waitress to ask for boxes, and the take-out sauce containers were far too large and impractical.
Moral of the story: this would have been a much better experience as takeout. Honestly, with food this good, they would thrive as a food truck or take-out focused spot. It’s a shame, because the food deserves better than the environment it’s being served in.
Still rooting for local — and still hoping they make changes, because the potential is absolutely there.

Really good food. Good portion. Most meals are affordable around $15-20. I got Alambre, beef is nice and tender. Store attached to the restaurant has good selection. Don’t make the mistake like I did of buying horchata in a can, their horchata on tap tastes really good

Delicious. A ton of food for the cost, and everything was super fresh. The empanadas especially were amazing.

The food was good but I felt like something was missing in the flavor of it all. The waitress was friendly and efficient and the food came out quickly. I had the street tacos and they were pretty good.

The food was Amazing. My wife Chicharrones and they were Beyond good. My seafood soup was very good as well. The waitress was very nice and helpful with our order. The eating area needed a little cleaning up but it was very busy. I wish I knew about this place years ago.

Love their food! Friendly staff, good size portions, and right up the street make this one of my favorite spots. The also have a store to purchase things to make at home.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ this place. This little spot is a must to check out for those wanting authentic Spanish food. I am accustom to round patacon (fried green bananas) but their version of strip chips is just as good. This version is not as oily. The open face taco is an amazing and better version of tacos than what most people are accustomed to. This is a true taco not like the franchise version. The tamales doesn’t come close to my mom’s, but it had similar taste and texture. Oh my goodness they had tamarind juice, and it was sweet and good. The price was affordable. The staff was attentive and friendly. FYI when you’re done eating you must go up to the front to pay your bill they do not bring it to the table. They also serve alcohol, and import/export beers.

Great food and friendly service! The tacos here are amazing and flavorful. They are served in double corn tortillas and filled with lots of food. Served with lime and great sauces.

I really wanted to like this place, they have fresh warm tortilla chips, fresh salsa and horchata. I thought this would be a home run till I received my order.
I ordered 2 tacos (1 Asada, 1 Pollo) and 1 pastor sope with a side of rice and beans and a glass of horchata.
Problem was the meat was all way over cooked and not very tasty.
It may have just been an off day for them but I cannot recommend this place.

Don’t sleep on this little place. I’ve lived across the street for years and am just trying it today but I am so glad I did! I got the tacos, 2 grilled chicken 2 shredded chicken. They came quick, they were hot and so flavorful! If I had to complain, the tortillas seemed like they were steamed earlier and have been sitting but that’s not a big complaint at all. I will definitely be going back.
