We went today Feb 12, 2022 after the new owner and chef took over (Chef Bigote)and the food was AMAZING. We had batido de Mamey which was the best I’ve ever had but I didn’t include the pic because we drank it so quickly, seafood paella which was delicious, platano maduros & much more. With one paella, around 4 people can eat. You can tell the ingredients were all fresh and the service was top notch. We will be going back for sure especially because not every restaurant makes the paella mojadita and so yummy like this one. It’s an hour drive for us but I really don’t mind. Keep up the great work.

Restaurant with your typical Tampa Latino Island dishes. Not a lot of seating but enough as long as it’s not a rush for lunch. Clean and bright staff are friendly enough. I ordered four Cubans and some black bean soup with yellow rice. I was a little disappointed all four sandwiches had very tough pork although seasoned to perfection it had to be removed from the sandwich to actually eat it. I will give them a try at another date and change my rating if the the food proves them better.

The food was excellent. We had pork. Black beans n rice. Red beans. Yucca and chicken. The service was good but there was a language barrier. Another patron had to help place our order. The chef came out and apologized for that.

My last meal I bought there was a little disappointing. I bought beef stew, white rice and red beans. The beef was good but apparently, the server scraped the side of the pan when she was getting the rice. Nearly all the rice was hard and crunchy. It ruined my experience. The sausage in the red beans was on the brink of going bad. Please make these corrections. Like I said, the beef was really good but the rice was not what I was expecting.

I avoided the white rice and went for the vegetable yellow rice and pork stew and plantains. Let me tell you. The whole meal was inedible. The yellow rice was spoiled and it made me gag, the plantains were old and rubbery and the pork was fatty and disgusting. YOUR FOOD IS OLD, KNOW WHEN TO THROW IT AWAY. YOU MADE ME AND MY COMPANION SICK. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY YOUR FOOD AGAIN. EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK PEOPLE!

We were charged $43.00 for a simple order of a rice, black beans and ropa vieja (meat) and one Chinese rice. A very simple cheap food that you get in many places of this king for $6.00 or $8.00 to $10.00 in a nice restaurant ordered off the menu. The price of 2 Churrasco or Steak with their sides….And the worst the food was DISGUSTING and NASTY, I almost throw out when I tried the Chinese rice as well as the black beans that were already past and bad we were not able to eat anything and have to leave. WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE

I’ve eaten at the Hillsborough location twice and the waters location about three times. This last time will be my last for all locations. The portions are huge which is not necessarily a positive since it’s mostly rice. This last visit I got black rice, beef in sauce, plantains and mofongo. I ate mostly rice and beef the first day with a few bites of mofongo. My stomach did not agree but I just chalked it up to the beans. The next day I ate some rice with the mofongo mixed in and I was up all night with food poisoning. No I will not be back. I wouldn’t recommend either.

This is one of the best places for authentic Cuban food in Tampa. Everything is so Delicious! Even the smoothies!! Highly recommend!

The food was so good I’ve never tried calamari as good as they make it the food overall was a 10/10 and to who ever thinks they are expensive I’m sorry that isn’t the restaurant it’s your fault for being broken so don’t blame the restaurant overall the best Cuban food ever

Nice 6 inch regular 6in. Cuban sandwich for $4.50same owners as the one at waters and dalemabry but much smaller. Employees very nice and helpful
