Social Profile:

La Rocca Rossa is located in downtown Morrison, Colorado. Set in a historic 150-year-old stone building on the town’s picturesque main street, the Italian steakhouse celebrates Colorado’s seasonal bounty by blending rustic Italian traditions and the country’s rich history as a cultural melting pot with bold, open-flame grilling techniques. La Rocca Rossa’s beverage program is a natural extension of its culinary ethos: incorporating herbs grown on-site, house-made shrubs and syrups, and unexpected ferments to build crafted drinks that evolve with the seasons. La Rocca Rossa—Italian for “The Red Rock”—is both a nod to the iconic nearby amphitheater and a love letter to the rugged beauty of Colorado’s landscape.

My family decided to try this little gem that opened up in August for a couple birthdays. First of all our service was amazing our waitress was great!!! The food was so- so. Very expensive fancy named food. We paid $600 for 5 people. I will go back there again but only for the Spanish Crispy Calamari and the homemade bread. WOW!! We all ordered different meals so we can try them all. I ordered the special which was Sea Bass. Unfortunately, it was cold and chewy (very pretty presentation) My mom had the rabbit pasta which was probably the best flavor wise. My brother and friend shared the Porterhouse steak. Steak was good, however the so call fingerling potatoes were just French fries. My sister had the lasagna and again very pretty presentation, the taste was so-so.
Atmosphere was a small space but very cozy.

So, I guess if you are looking for a quaint, over priced dinner give it a try. Or if you are looking for appetizers and drinks I would definitely say go for the calamari and bread you will get full off that. It was a good experience but I would say over priced.

Great service and a cute spot! Definitely one of the better upscale spots along the foothills. The food was mostly great (focaccia is a must), drinks were great (housemade pine syrup, anyone??), but the found the menu overall leaving some to be desired. Atmosphere was intimate and cozy, but some issues with lighting made some tables way too bright and we had to request to move. Would try to sit bar top next time!

Will be returning and will recommend to others.

Fantastic restaurant in Morrison! Very filling, good selection of wines. We had the special appetizer, caprese salad, Caesar salad, lasagna, buffalo short ribs, and lemon sorbet. The appetizer ravioli was delicious – it had a green sauce that was a little spicy, the vinegar, and the praline walnuts. My hubby enjoyed that the Caesar salad was a but lemony. I really enjoyed the pesto that came with the caprese. The caprese salad was a but salty to my taste, but it really worked well with all the ingredients. The ambience was lovely – we enjoyed sitting near the fireplace. My hubby said it’s “cozy” and the one could eat and drink a lot there. Chairs were super comfortable.

This was one of the best meals we’ve had in so long! The service was also top notch which I feel like is rare these days. We enjoyed the focaccia, scallops and gnocchi, steak, crème brûlée, and a special appetizer that was like ravioli. I would order all of these things again.

This is a newer restaurant in Morrison. I really like the food. The burrata salad was my favorite. My husband got the steak and loved it. I got the rabbit pasta dish and it was good but super rich. We also had some nice cocktails and wine and olives to start. Great place for a date night!

Food and drinks were great while a group of friends celebrated a couple of birthdays. Our server, Connor, was very helpful with food suggestions and making sure everyone at our table was enjoying themselves. Highly recommend the pork chops and lasagna.

Oh my goodness—what an incredible restaurant! I’m thrilled to have such a delicious new spot in town, and the space itself is absolutely stunning. The lasagna is a must-try with a serious wow factor when it’s served. We also had the bread and olives—such a tasty treat, and the focaccia was fantastic. It’s a bit on the pricier side for Morrison, but definitely worth the splurge for amazing food paired with a great atmosphere.

We took a few people here twice in the last 3 months. Both times the environment and service was great. The first time the food was looked great in presentation, but was over-saturated with salt. We wanted to try it again thinking that maybe a new employee, just overdid it with salt. Second time, it was worse. Three out of the four of us only had a few bites of fish, both lobster tails were grossly salted and none of us took to go bags.

The desert was great because they can’t salt it. We won’t go back, it was pricey to only eat a few bites. If you go, stick with pasta only and desert or find another place for meat, seafood or fish. Really a great concept, great location, but the head chef needs to get some real feedback on the overwhelming sodium and just let the food breath. Hope the best for this restaurant, but changes need to be made quickly.
