The server was incredibly slow, we waited 15min to finally get an order asked a question on a few drinks she had no idea what she was giving… I watched everyone around us recieve chips and salsa but she never brought us anything at all. Dont understand if a race issue considering everyone else is not Hispanic, but was very awkward experience sitting here watching this occur. We waited another 30min for our food and it was with cold cheese, dried over cooked i had to leave this was unacceptable food after everything we went through. Will never come again

I can afford like $10-20 a week for a surprise with take out. So I saw some really good reviews about this place on TikTok and wanted to try it! especially with the fried Yuca! There was no one in the restaurant so I should have tsken it as a sign. I was starving and so excited but when I got 4 small yuca bites for $9 I was kind of like not cool…. You should make them bigger or give people atleast 6-8 of them if they are that small. $9 for 4 small yica bites is crazy work and seems greedy. I can go to a better place in Lynn. The quesadilla was not that well put together either. Caps on the sides fell off from the heat and made a mess.

Give more yuca bites or please make them bigger! I wasted $$$$ on this dinner for myself and my kid and we were stillll hungry after. Of course I fed my kid again.

I won’t be back unless they make some changes to their prices and food. I dont mind driving to Lynn. Yes it sucks but I get more for my $$ with good in Lynn places or mom and pop places.

Great lunch at La Qchara. Service was attentive and friendly. The Tamal Ahogado was a nice starter, with a smooth cinnamon forward mole, moist chicken and pillowy masa.

The carne mechada arepa was served with a nice salad and sesame dressing. The arepa was a little tough but the beef was flavorful and overall was a great lunch. Free chips and salsa were great. Looking forward to exploring more of the menu!

Portions are very small for price, flavors just were not there. I expected an explosion of flavor and was very disappointed. Avocados I was given in my stuffed plate were not ripe and were hard in texture. A plate of food costing nearly $20 was very small and had the driest plantains I have ever tasted. “Shredded beef” was not fully shredded and I had solid chunk of beef in the dish which is just not what was ordered. Portobello tacos tasted like dish soap. Just terrible experience. The location has 0 parking as well. Cabot Street is very busy and all of the shops and stores were busy except this spot and I should’ve taken that as a warning!

My husband and I loved the food, the service, and the prices. It’s a great place to sample a little bit of Latin American cuisine from many different countries. The horchata was fantastic, and I really enjoyed the churros, the tacos, and the Toston sandwich. Thank you!

Great food! Excellent service. I had the chicken empanadas, queso fundido, Birria Garnacha and my partner had the portabello tacos. Everything was extremely delicious! Will definitely be back to try all the other things on the menu.

Very glad we tried this place, we started off with horchata and chicken empanadas. The horchata was pretty good, I like it with a little more spice to it, but it’s a good portion size and not too sweet which I like. The chicken empanadas were amazing they were so crispy, had great flavor, and it came with this great sauce to dip it in that added a nice spiciness to the adobo chicken. Then for the main course I got the pork arepas and my girlfriend got the Mexico city tacos (1 chicken, 1 carnitas, and 1 adobado.) This was my first time trying arepas, and I was really pleased with my introduction. The arepa lightly tastes of corn, but it’s kind of fluffy like white bread, it’s not the easiest thing to describe if you’ve never had it but I suggest trying it. It’s a great vehicle for the pork that was lightly spiced and cut in cubes, and it was well marbled with bits of fat throughout. The guacamole really brought the arepa together, it was mostly just mashed avocado, some onion, and maybe jalapenos or something, but it was not overpowering or trying to steal the spotlight, just adding the flavor of avocado to the mix, it also came with a nice fresh salad which went perfectly with the meal. My girlfriends tacos were really great. The tortilla tasted just like the corn tortillas we had in Mexico city. Clearly made from actual corn, but unlike in Mexico city the tacos were full of meat and very flavorful. It came with rice and she was hoping it would come with beans, but unfortunately not. All in all though it was really delicious and with the closing of Alcapulcos, this may be our new go to spot for Latin food. Also the best part was that all this came in under 60 dollars, we barely ever get out for a date night spending under 80 dollars, and it was a great meal. It seems like a really great place and I would highly recommend it.

**Food Review: La Qchara, Beverly, MA **

Translating to “The Spoon,” La Qchara’s menu is a vibrant celebration of tradition and culinary passion, perfectly situated at 275 Cabot St in Beverly.

**Drinks** : The evening began on a high note with a selection of drinks that could rival any festive occasion. The margarita, expertly crafted, was a highlight—perfectly balanced and packed with flavor. The mojito, sangria, and Aperol spritz were also well-received, each adding a unique twist to our drink choices.

**Appetizers** : The yucca balls were an immediate hit. Often overlooked, yucca was transformed into delightful, crispy bites that echoed the comforting essence of potatoes, deserving a 9/10. The queso dip followed suit with its indulgent cheesy goodness and flavorful meat—a solid 8/10.

**Main Courses**:
– **Quinoa Bowls** : An absolute star of the evening, the quinoa bowl was adorned with mangoes and plantains, offering a refreshing twist to the nutritious base. Whether topped with chicken, salmon, or shrimp, this dish was a unanimous 10/10.
– **Arepas** : These 100% homemade corn flour buns were a testament to freshness and quality. Filled with either shrimp and avocado or shredded beef and avocado, they were a joy to savor, scoring a well-deserved 9/10.
– **Enchiladas Mole** ️: The gluten-free chicken enchiladas draped in mole sauce were competent, though they lacked the depth typically expected of mole, landing at a 6/10.

– **Sizzling Fajitas** : A vibrant and interactive dish, the fajitas (available in various proteins) came alive with mango accents. While delicious, they required prompt attention to prevent the chicken from overcooking, rated 8/10.

**Dessert** : No Mexican dining experience could conclude without churros, served here with chocolate sauce. Though slightly overdone, they still managed to provide a sweet, satisfying end to our meal, rated at 6/10.

**Overall Impressions** : La Qchara in my book gets an overall food rating of 8/10, ambiance at 6/10, and affordability at 8/10, it’s a beacon of quality and authenticity in the North Shore dining scene. A return visit isn’t just an option; it’s a necessity for anyone craving genuine and spirited flavors.

Go somewhere else. There is much better Mexican restaurants than this one. Salsa wasn’t great, chips weren’t great either. Guacamole was really good. Must have been our waitresses first day. She told me they didn’t have sour cream … I said I was very surprised a Mexican restaurant wouldn’t have sour cream … then later she said she asked the kitchen and they did have it. I asked for a grilled chicken quesadilla instead of shredded chipotle chicken. The kitchen made it with the shredded chipotle chicken .. she brought it out and said sorry they made it like this and left it on the table. Didn’t even offer to have it fixed. The food was okay I guess. Definitely won’t be coming back.
