I had read in other reviews that it can take a while for the order to be made, so it helps to call ahead. The woman running this little stand hung up on me when I tried to order because I said I only wanted one. She said she didn’t make just one, and hung up. So, I decided to go in person. When I arrived, I saw a sign that said it had to be an order of two or more. I ordered three (cash only, by the way). They all come with cheese, but I ordered one bean, one onion, and one chicken. I asked her what her own favorite one was, and she said none. Okay, great start. The bean was good, but was boring. The cheese and onion was fine, but lacked the onion flavor I was hoping for. It was just raw onion with cheese. And then, the chicken tasted like canned chicken (and looked it) and was not good at all, unfortunately. I’ve had papusas before, so I kind of knew what to expect and this wasn’t it. Aside from my experience, the place was popping at lunch and a ton of people were there… Maybe I just haven’t found the right one to try!

If you just change your expectations about what this place is and what it isn’t, it’s worth trying. This is a little old lady who makes her signature dish on the spot, and the dish is pupusas. It’s just like if you grandmother was locked in a box all day and made her pierogi or tacos or riceballs. Nothing fancy but it tastes homemade. She prefers it if you call ahead with your order because it doesn’t make sense for you to walk up and order, then have to wait 15+ minutes in a parking lot. These take longer to make then tacos from a taco truck. I haven’t eaten many other pupusas so I can’t compare these to others, but they taste good and homemade and two pupusas with salsa and coleslaw for $9 is a pretty good price actually. If you have a taste for a pupusa then nothing else will do, so you should come here and eat some!

I’ve read some of the other reviews on here and was somewhat shocked by the original rating… but it seems to mostly be folks who didn’t like the chefs attitude. I prefer some sas if the food is delicious… which it freaking was. It’s a great price point and the flavors were phenomenal. Everything is gluten free which is phenomenal. Be aware she only takes cash money, no credit cards or other forms of payment. There are a few atms within walking distance if you come unprepared. The flavors are rich in a great way, so I hope to come back here once every month. So glad we discovered this gem!

Sometimes I just crave pupusas and this place hits the spot. Like other people have mentioned they are made fresh so call your order in ahead and don’t wait around.

We love the pupusa lady
She can be a bit moody, but it’s entirely understandable as it’s just one little old woman, speaks a little English, in a tiny little shack. I assume her sons or grandsons come by with supplies as I’ve seen them from time to time, but it’s just her running the business. You have to get her at the right time, as she works until she sells out. The pupusas are awesome, and it’s definitely worth it! Cash only, there’s an ATM in the liquor store next door.

Delicious, affordable, and homemade! Very special spot. Called ahead and placed an order for pickup (~30 min. wait). The owner speaks Spanish and will most likely answer the phone so.

Delicious. Must order in threes. Try them all. Call before as sometimes she gets big orders and wait times are up to two hours.

I’ve been coming here for over a decade. They have one of the best vegetarian pupusa selections I’ve ever seen. Cute little seating area in the parking lot. Mostly just lunchtime hours.

This place sucks now. There is a 2 pupusa minimum and cash only. Then when you go in to order both must be same ingredients only. One can’t be different than the other. No more than two ingredients in each as well. Lastly, the lady is unpleasan, very rude. Sad to see this place go downhill, oh well.

The pupusas here are delicious and affordable. It is cash only and wise to call ahead. One woman runs this stand, making everything to order, by herself. At fastest, it is 15-20 minutes, if you try to order in the middle of the typical lunch hours, expect 45 minutes to an hour. Keep in mind, this is a one woman show making you a delicious and affordable lunch. She is not the friendliest, but I’m not going for an experience, I go for a great and affordable lunch.
