TACOS, TUNES, & TEQUILA… that’s what we’re all about. We’ve always envisioned La Puerta as a hangout for people who want to be treated with a high level of hospitality while enjoying quality Mexican food and drinks in a fun atmosphere. Our Sinaloa-inspired family recipes demand we make nearly everything on the menu fresh daily and we never use artificial flavorings or enhancers. Our specialty drinks are made with the freshest ingredients and juices. We squeeze every lime, and while it may take a few minutes, we strive to make a damn good drink that delivers maximum refreshment. Whether you’re enjoying our Carne Asada tacos or our fresh-squeezed margaritas, you will be shown sincere appreciation for your business and a genuine good time.

The experience started off poorly with the hostess, who seemed completely unimpressed and sat us down without even speaking to us. The food didn’t get any better. The rice tasted old, the tacos were overly oily, and nothing felt fresh or well executed. I was genuinely upset that on a short two day trip to California, this is what I ended up eating.
The surf and turf tacos and the mix and match tacos were supposed to be the highlight, but they still didn’t redeem the meal. The only thing that was actually good were the refried beans.
Well, What could have been a good experience was ruined by the beverages menu. First, they only have drinks menu where you have to scan a QR code, once you scan, you are greeted with messy adds (mostly about fish or drinks available elsewhere but even explocit ones if you’re lucky—mot recommended for a family), then once you navigate it successfully, drink menu is not very clear or intiutive at all (certainly not for regulars, they don’t have Margarittas written in the menu)—bad!! When the food came, it was good.
Wouldnt recommend it to a family or friends. May be if you are regular and know what you like, it may work.
Each of the servers I interacted with where friendly and provided exceptional service.
I tried a few things on their menu and they where absolutely delicious, these items include
Carna Asada- witch made my taste buds sing. Its a safe and delicious option.
Pollo Asado- witch was delicious though the meat wasn’t as falvorfull the garnish balanced it well.
Carnitas- was good and one of their top picks on the menu. I would say if your sensitive to grease then this one might not be for you. Otherwise dig in!
Each of their taco plates comes with rice, rajas con crema (an onion and green pepper mixed with sause), and refried beans. I suggest mixing the rice and rajas con crema together. The rice on its own isn’t anything to brag about and the rajas con crema is kinda off putting on their own; but together they make a nice flaver balence.
Over all this place is definitely worth; and deserves, its ranking for top 10 tacos in the us!
They were super nice to my service dogs and brought him treats.
