I love this place. Got 3 enchiladas and loved them. Service is excellent. The furnishings are admittedly a little older, but the prices are great for what you get.

Best restaurant for homemade Mexican food. Was visiting Utah and had stopped here for lunch. Food was great and tasty. Service and atmosphere was excellent. Must visit and would definitely recommend.

This place is a favorite of my landlady’s family, they love it here. So I stopped in with a friend and I can see what the fuss is about! Very generous and tasty portions that are sure to warm you up when it is chilly out. The service is SO quick, and the prices are super reasonable. Would recommend!

I have been going to La puente for about 35 years, we always known this place for the good food and reasonably prices but in the recent weeks they raise their prices to almost double. They now sell a bottle of beer for 8 a bottle making it the most expensive in town .With no improvements in the building, which is pretty run down to give you a nice dining experience is hard to go back. At those prices I rather go somewhere with a decent atmosphere. Everyone had always said that you go to la puente for the food and the price. Not anymore.

So very happy to discover La Puenta! The food is authentic and plentiful for both breakfast and dinner. Atmosphere and staff are also great. Prices are very reasonable and be sure to bring your appetite the servings are generous to say the least!

I came here for dinner with my fiancé, waited awhile for drinks & for our order to be taken. 15 or 20 minutes go by & our food finally arrived. I was taken back by how much lettuce was just thrown on the plate i couldn’t even find my tacos. The food was just thrown together on the plate wasn’t even fresh. I ordered hard tacos, they were so soggy! i picked it up & it completely bent in half full of water dripping out. let me not fail to mention my taco was missing HALF THE SHELL! & was covered with lettuce to try to hide it apparently. I was so disappointed because I had a great experience at a different location & was really looking forward to a great experience trying out this location.

Always eat here when I get in town. It’s New Mexico cooking at its finest. Also reminds me of my mom’s cooking. I will either have their smothered burrito, their fries smothered and with cheese, their breakfast smothered with green chili or chili Colorado. A little disappointed that refills are no longer free. Is it really that much more to give free refills?
Ther service was excellent. Our waitress was on the ball. Got us in and out quickly, since we were on a time constraint, but was very attentive. Price was reasonable.

Usually I come here almost every week and I always tip because I feel like they do a excellent service but this time I went in 11/24/25 the service was really not up to standard with our group, no refills, no service for 35 minutes, no server coming to our table and forgetting small things which would have not been a problem but the reason for the review was because one of the servers (lady with black hair) actually chased us after we had paid and left saying “if you can’t tip your servers don’t come back” which I find HIGHLY unprofessional and disrespectful I’ve been a loyal customer to this establishment for years only to be treated like this? It’s ridiculous! She had been making some remarks during our meal but we looked past it because we simply were having a conversation and didn’t think she was talking to us, this is truly disappointing probably never coming back.

I’ve always made a special trip to this location because the food is better and more spicy than the other la puente’s. Sadly the past two times I’ve gone there they raised their prices, not once but twice!! Not to mention I had asked my server for a refill and he turned back and said “we don’t have refills!” I said “I’ve been coming here for years and have always been able to get a refill on my Pepsi. I looked at the menu and yep, it said no refills, at that moment I was LIVID!! If you’re charging someone $4 bucks for one drink you’ve got to be out of your mind!!
I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for years and I understand things have gone up but it LITERALLY COST about 7-10 cents per drink and now it’s $4 for only one drink with ice all the way to the top. ♀️
Just a little word of advice; you will make more money keeping the cost of your menu down and giving people refills because you will lose a lot of people who can go somewhere else and get cheaper food & refills. I’ve seen too many restaurants either go cheap on their food and lose people or get greedy and lose people to higher cost. Just saying!!
