Excellent lunch at La Promesa. The pork and cheese pupusas and the yuca con chicharrón were delicious and very satisfying. The flavors really stand out compared to other places I’ve been. Highly recommend checking them out—I’ll definitely be back to try more.

There’s a lot of competition in Central American restaurants in the area, but La Promesa goes above and beyond of the competition.
The place is a chill restaurant/marketplace with breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings. Their tacos and pupusas are great, can recommend.
Service is great, if a bit slow at times, but they’re attentive and otherwise excellent. It’s just a nice, chill place for food.

My mom and I stopped in on a whim for a snack, and my mom was curious what pupusas were. This was her first time trying Salvadorian food and we both thought it was delicious! We ordered a cheese pupusa, and another one that had cheese, beans, and pork filling. We also had some fried plantains. We loved all of the food, and the servings were bigger and more filling than I expected! The service was good and the restaurant was clean. My mom was underwhelmed by the decor, but I said that’s how you know the food is good! I’d definitely come back and try more new things!

I am a fan of pupusas and this is the restaurant in the area with the best pupusas. They use quality cheese, I like that is the perfect balance. That way I won’t gain weight hehe. The service was great. They took time to prep the food but they clearly state (with a visible note) that the food is made in the order. The food was great and fresh. I really appreciate it. I recommend this restaurant check it out.

This is the place to go for pupusas. The loroco and chicharron are my favorites, but everything is good. The curtido is perfect. I keep meaning to try something else but keep walking out with pupusas 🙂

SO GOOD! Got tacos and papusas and both were great. I ate the tacos too fast, didn’t have a chance to take a pic. Here’s a pic of the papusas though. Super friendly staff and great service!!

La Promesa has the best pupusas around the Sterling area. My favorite pupusas are made in Los Chorros located in Maryland, but since I’ve been in VA for quite some time now La Promesa is my new favorite pupusa place.
I definitely recommend them. You must try the chicken pupusas! Apart from the food the staff is friendly and I love the music that plays as soon as I open their door!

We were there for weekday breakfast. Food was great and best priced. Tried their papusas and veggie omelette.
Not much crowded, and very good service. Plenty of space and parking in this location. We will go there with kids again during weekdays.
