What a Gem! This family owned Halal Spanish restaurant is a hidden Richmond gem. The atmosphere is very nice. The restaurant is extremely clean. The staff are very friendly. The food was cooked fresh and was very flavorful and the portions are great! I am so happy I found this restaurant. Make sure to get the chocolate filled churros!!!

I marked the atmosphere 5 stars even though I only did takeout but from what I saw it was super clean. Bright and lots of space with an outside area to sit and eat.
I ordered the birria tacos (onions but no cilantro for me.) very good. Generous serving of meat and cheese. Crispy tortilla. A side container of consomé that really sets it off. My wife and I could probably share an order of these. Very filling.
I also ordered a side of rice and the container was so full. Again, depending on how much you like to eat, you could probably share the order of rice between 2 or more people.
The lady I interacted with at the counter (didn’t catch her name) was so polite and welcoming. She was helping another customer when I walked in but still greeted me.

Alhamdulillah, the food is always great! The atmosphere is always pleasant. The waitress there is always awesome and I am always satisfied! Very friendly and clean establishment and its HALAL .

The parking lot is spacious, with tons of room all around the building. there’s indoor and outdoor seating available.
The interior is so amazing. The color schemes and windows made it very appealing and took that area and made it feel bigger on the inside.
Let’s get to food and service. Ara is absolutely fantastic. She is very kind, patient, and a very lovely and charming person to be pampered by! She stayed a little late just to make sure we were taken care of! (She’s so great!!)

The lava cake was so so rich, I couldn’t finish it! The churros we chose was the cream filled (i asked Miss Ara her favorite, and omg they were amazing!!)

Visited on Friday, Aug 15 around 3 p.m. The server was very friendly, but that’s where the positives ended. The restaurant still smells strongly of cigarette smoke from when it was a bar called Patrick’s, which made the environment unpleasant.
We ordered pupusas (refried beans & cheese, and cheese only). Being from El Salvador, I was very much insulted for what we were served. The beans and cheese pupusas were greasy, orange in color, and had what I can describe as just a teaspoon of bean soup!?….— just a strange blended filling. The dough tasted old, unevenly cooked, and poorly made.
Our server kindly offered to remake them, but the food and overall smell of the place were enough for us to take everything to go and leave. Very disappointing experience — if you don’t know how to prepare a dish properly, it shouldn’t be on your menu.

Was driving to Richmond for a business trip and instead of going to my usual halal place downtown decided to do a quick search to see if anything new had opened. To my surprise La Princesa came up. First thought was this is a mistake but was so glad to find out it wasn’t. Whether you eat halal or not this place has some great food. I ordered the beef soup, guac and jamaica. Everything was fresh and delicious. The tortillas chips were even fresh fried. Definitely a must to visit and I’ll be going back once I’m in the area again!

I recently stopped by for an early dinner and decided to sit outside in their cute little picnic area. The service was amazing because not only was the waitress nice and attentive, she had some good suggestions as well. I ordered the horchata, lengua taco, cheese pupusa, fried bananas and tres leches.
Fun fact: the tres leches is made in house and it was very tender with the perfect amount of milk. The bananas were caramelized perfectly as well. I liked the taco, but the pupusa was not my favorite maybe I’m used to them being less cakey.
Overall I would go back with a friend for a good meal at this chill spot!

Had lunch today here. The place was clean and the staff was attentive, but the food was okay, a bit bland and lacked flavour. We ordered Philly chicken sub, quesadilla, pupusa and hot buffalo wings. Philly sub was really good, pupusa was decent, but quesadilla was very bland and wings were undercooked and cold.

Okay look, I am not a bot or a paid reviewer. Me and some buddies were looking for a place to eat in the area after a long morning of cleaning up. This place hit the spot so well that I had to sit in my car after and think about it. This restaurant and its staff are clean, professional, and passionate. Those things are no longer common place at every restaurant. La Princesa and an authentic breath of fresh air. The food was truly incredible from my quesadilla to the churros our table shared. I look forward to coming again to try other items on the menu. If you are unsure about coming here, …don’t be. Stop wasting time and go get some delicious food. Again I’m not a bot, I just like to talk and compliment …when its deserved.
