I’m not from here, but I was craving a burger. While searching, my GPS led me to the place next door, but they had terrible reviews, so I decided to give “La Prensa” a shot. And wow, what a fantastic surprise! My experience was absolutely amazing—super positive and memorable. The staff is incredibly friendly! The food is authentic and utterly delicious, and they even offer cooking classes. They serve more than just tacos and tapas; you can find burgers and salsas to-go as well! I was blown away by all the amazing flavors, so much so that I had to share—they let me try all the salsas, and I ended up taking two to go. Trust me, you have to try this place—it’s truly a gem!

Took their Sunday mixology class and it was absolutely amazing! Samet walked us through all of the different types of tequila and then we started to make drinks. One was better than the next. He created a drink on the spot and the too was amazing. There was a food pairing with each drink. From the street corner to the empanada to the short rib enchilada EVERY THING was delicious. We closed with an expresso martini with best sopapilla I’ve ever had. Could not recommend this class or the restaurant highly enough. Samet is a genius!

We had such a great experience here and everything we ordered was delicious. We started with the berenjenas fritas and the gambas al ajillo, both packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The camarón taco was simple but really well done, and the Mexican street corn esquites was so good we ordered a second one to take home. Even dessert delivered. The tres leche cake was moist, not overly sweet, and a perfect way to end the meal.

Our server Anna was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything came out smoothly without rushing us. The pacing of the meal felt just right and the overall vibe was relaxed and welcoming.

Parking was easy, we were seated quickly, and the prices felt fair for the quality and portion sizes. This was one of those meals where everything hits and you leave already thinking about what you would order next time. We will absolutely be back.

Our first time at La Prensa Tacos & Tapas – and not a place I would return to. It’s a little tight around the restaurant and for the price we paid, certainly didn’t think the food was worth it.

Unlike someone had mentioned, the chips & salsa weren’t complimentary! The carne asada was good enough. Since I could use more flavoring / spiciness – I asked for a hot sauce .. which they didn’t have but harbenero sauce was available for purchase?! – which also was just ok!

So there’s no free chips and no free hot sauce…and on top, the waitress seemed to be in the face, anxy, and dropping stuff all around us! Finally – I asked for the check (as in – I wanted to see a print out) 3 separate times but she would only show me her little machine and the prices listed. I wasn’t really convinced about what I was paying for – but since I felt I had enough of the place and wanted to get the heck out, we paid and left. The churros were good though!

The food didn’t have a bad taste, but it’s definitely not authentic mexican food as was stated. They said that everything is made fresh. Maybe the salsa and guacamole is made fresh, but the tortillas are store bought.
The fajitas are more like street tacos.
They charge $4 for a tiny portion of guacamole, which I can get authentic homemade guacamole in a half a pint size container for $5.
Enchiladas are not supposed to be sweet, unless they are made as a dessert.

Honestly for what we spent for our dinner, I can get way more portions and more authentic mexican food elsewhere.

Chipotle, Viva Burrito, and Filibertos are a better choice for authenticity and much better priced.

Overall this place is way overpriced and not worth it.

Since walking in the door, we were greeted with courtesy and service was top notch. Loved the decor and the vibe. The food was incredible! to the chef!

The only reason for giving the atmosphere 4 stars, was the music. Due to the concept, I didn’t think pop or R&B really mixed well with a Latin type of restaurant.

Loved the ambience. Tacos were delicious. Burrito was very tasty. At the end churros and ice cream were super delicious. Chips and salsa were complimentary. Our server was Anna. Super friendly and helpful in deciding what to order.

Food and service were amazing and the dining room is beautiful! Anna was our server and she asked us several times if everything was okay and if we needed anything. I usually get fajita. The fajita was the best I ever had. The rice and beans were amazing, even the children liked it! Children had chicken tenders and they loved it. We all enjoyed the chips and the guacamole dip, it was some kinda good! We arrived and was able to sit down immediately.

Wow, what a gem in Sterling! The housemade tortillas are next level—soft, fresh, and perfectly textured for wrapping up those bold tacos. I went with the Tacos all Pastor and Birria options; the fusion flavors exploded with ginger and spice, no skimping on quality. Paired it with a couple of their craft cocktails (the mezcal marg was smoky perfection) and some Spanish tapas like empanadas that hit all the savory notes. Casual vibe, attentive service, and prices that won’t break the bank. If you’re craving elevated Mexican eats, this is your spot—I’ll be back for happy hour tacos! Highly recommend.

Happened upon this restaurant and so glad we did!

Absolutely loved the food we had as well as their delicious made in house salsa’s. They also sell there salsa’s by the jar!

For appetizer we enjoyed the perks chicken empanadas served with salsa Verde. I could eat those all day! The pastry was light and crispy and all the flavors go Sowell together.

For the entree we had the Birria Tostada and it was so good! All the flavors worked so well together!

Though we didn’t taste any deserts i am sure they were just as good!

Will come again!
