We Love this place. We were here a few years ago then again last night (8-12-2025). The margaritas were the best I’ve had in a long time. The food was amazing as always. My wife had the grouper and I had one of the steaks. My steak was better than most I get in the US. My wife loved her fish too. If you’re around Escazu and want a great meal with excellent service and a nice atmosphere, this is the place.

I pointed to a soup someone was eating which turned out to be an incredibly delicious seafood soup cooked in milk with generous amount of seafood and chayote ( I think) and vegetables with a glorious flavour! It was soul soothing and satisfying. The broth of my friend’s soup with meat and potato was so tasty and the shredded beef in pastry shells was terrific too. It’s taken me a long time to discover such a gem after flying in and out of San Jose Costa Rica as a flight attendant. We ubered there. Tons of mostly locals, the prices are decent! I couldn’t understand why Fred and Wilma flintstone and wooden witches decorated the place, but it was packed. If I’d known the translated name of the place, something like “witches nook”, I probably would have politely declined. I’m so glad I went. The food is home made and absolutely local and delicious and popular. I would love to find more gems like these restaurants where Ticos go for a more special time out. We had a great time on the large outdoor area. Bring your sweater the nights can be fresh but still humid. We thoroughly enjoyed the quirky atmosphere and it was family friendly. The staff was extremely nice, spoke English and easily separated our bills. I will go back for sure!! I think it worked out to $15 Canadian per person I can’t remember.

Recommended by locals and was very impressed by the service and food. The smoothies were fresh and came in a beautiful glass. All of the dishes were tasty and I especially enjoyed the plantains with cheese.

Recommended by our uber driver for a local authentic place to dine and what a great place to eat drink and chill. One of the best bartenders here !!! Differently worth coming here. My husband I went here today and it was amazing. We ordered New York steaks and mojitos and hands down one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. The staff was so nice and so friendly, and I loved that this was a local gem. I would recommend this place to everyone. Thank you for such an amazing lunch and experience. Large soda type of bistro where you can get a tasty food (both traditional and also grill). We visited based on a recommendation from our hotel and must confirm this place is really good. You can park inside its area (secured and free parking) and have a menu with a large offering. We took grilled fish with a seafood and grilled chicken with rice and beans and enjoyed it. Some pieces of octopus were rubbery but the fish was very well prepared and the chicken was tender. Very quick service and good prices too.

This place has 3 things that make it the best place to eat, authentic dishes that taste heavenly, huge portions and low prices which make the whole experience an unbeatable combination.
I tried to take pictures to show by comparison and i am a tall guy. The mango smoothie is the size of a medieval chalice while the plate is more like a platter.

We got there at 3:30 and didn’t sit until 4:30, but well worth the wait!
The appetizers are huge, and the meals are ginormous (see pics below)
The staff is friendly but be advised if you in a rush, this may not be the place for you; it seems like a local hot spot but definitely recommend for a party of 4 or more, and two meals would be plenty!!
**private parking and CC are accepted along with washing hands before entering the restaurant very COVID conscience.

The place is very nice, we’ve wait to get a spot between 10, to 15 minutes. And we went during the week.
Just imagine on weekends, (crazy for everybody, employees, customers)
