If you’re looking for a no-frills, truly authentic taco experience, this walk-up spot absolutely delivers. Tucked into a Mexican grocery store, this place is great! From the moment you step in, you can tell this place is about the food — not the fluff.

The tacos are the real deal. Fresh, warm tortillas piled high with perfectly seasoned meats that taste like they came straight off a street cart in Mexico. Every bite is packed with flavor — simple, honest, and incredibly satisfying. Multiple choices of meats, from Carne asada, to barbacoa!

Also what’s fun, is the salsa and toppings bar. It’s not just an afterthought — it’s a full experience. Multiple house-made salsas ranging from mild and bright to smoky and seriously spicy, fresh chopped cilantro and onions— everything you need to build your taco exactly the way you like it. The quality and freshness of the toppings elevate an already great taco into something worth the trip out!

No pretense. No gimmicks. Just authentic tacos, bold flavors, and a really cool salsa bar. This is the kind of place you find and tell friends about— then you keep coming back…

Best taco joint I’ve found in Ohio. And those carne asada quesadillas are great. Service and atmosphere, taking in to account this is an offshoot of a grocery store, is quite decent as well.

Food came out quick and was very happy with the tacos. The refried beans tasted a lil burnt, but the rice was good. Definitely will be back for more!

The food was good, so why give five stars you ask? Because, look at my photo – the tacos cost $4 instead of the $3 I pay at most places, but you get an incredible amount of steak!!! They FILL your tacos with steak. And the other reason is the condiments bar – you put what you want! From onions, cilantro and tasty salsa to guacamole and cream, plus, all the pickled jalapeños you want!

If you like steak tacos, then this is a “must try” destination.

It’s located inside of a Mexican grocery store.

Staff is friendly, service is FAST!

No complaints really.

La Plaza is impressive.

It’s a grocery store with a restaurant attached to it. I visited for the first time. When I walked in, the older male made me feel so welcome. He guided me through the menu and recommended food and dessert. Everyone had a great attitude.

I got chicken tamales. The food was so flavorful. They had kinds of sauces to pick from. The rice and beans were delicious.

I will definitely go back and recommend to friends and family.

Came here a little while ago with some friends, and I’m glad we went! Situated right next to a supermarket, it’s a little restaurant with ample seating. The tacos are prepared with just the shell and the meat, and then there’s a “salad bar” type situation for all the toppings – queso, guac, cilantro, etc. The tacos were great, though I really don’t have anything specific to say about each meal in particular. I also got a side of guac and chips. One of my friends got a sandwich-type meal, and I can’t say I remember what it was called. We also all got horchata – which was tasty but weirdly lukewarm. Overall, a pleasant experience, and a good place to grab tacos with friends.

These are the best tacos but judgements on people that come in there is not good. I was called a homo ha ha how original to say but if we are building a community together and fight for one another not meaning homo or any racial comments let’s stick together as our community and our neighborhood because I live literally a block away and have been coming in for quite some time and hearing that today definitely was upsetting. I will continue to support and put my feelings aside but come on man do better than that and represent the establishment and how great it is. If I get knock down again you won’t lose business but you might lose my respect. Keep doing great things of which you’ve proven just don’t speak down on a customer please.

Pretty legit Mexican food here! I travel to Houston a lot and it’s nice to see a place like this up in Cleveland. I think I was the only English speaking customer as well. Food came out fast and there’s a salad bar type station where you load up whatever you want on top. Great lunch spot.

Although I was aware of this original location for years, I had never had a chance to visit because on my trips to Cleveland, it was never close enough to stop by. Coincidentally, I happened to be in Amherst during the grand opening week of their second location. I had recently tried barbacoa for the first time at a different “national” establishment, so that was what I chose. I arrived earlier in the day, so the meat and sides were very fresh. The barbacoa was so tender and flavorful that I was kicking myself for never trying it before. It was like someone’s grandma was in the kitchen. Fast forward to my recent trip to the original location because I finally was within 7 minutes away. I chose to once again order barbacoa tacos with rice and beans as before. On this trip, it was later in the day, which may account for why the meat on this visit was flavorful, but not nearly as tender as before because it seems to have been sitting longer than before. What I forgot to mention is that on the first trip, I ordered the food carryout and drove 65 minutes or more home, keeping the food heated with my heated seats. On the second trip, I ordered carryout and kept the food heated in my Doordash bag and heated seats for a 30-minute trip home, and the first order was still WAY better. In their defense, I understand that everyone can have an off day when preparing food, and surprisingly, when I took them out of the fridge the next day and reheated them, they were better than the first day. I plan to visit again earlier in the day this time to ensure that I receive it as fresh as possible. The chicken taco and tamale dinners were ordered by my son and granddaughter, and they enjoyed them at both locations. (Pics are from first visit)
