Since we arrived at the place, it already smelled delicious, they welcomed us spectacularly, the atmosphere was very happy and fun, the happy starters in various areas of the place since at the same time they were celebrating 8 birthdays. The waiter who was very kind to serve us along with his great disposition named Francisco made us some very good typical recommendations of the place to delight us, the beer, the preparation of the food at the exact point between flavor and temperature make 5 stars are few, Don’t forget to try the salsa with chips, which is one of the best spicy versions I’ve tried in this country, really congratulations.

I love La Playa and it’s always been great most times I’ve gone but this time I wouldn’t want this meal if it was my last meal on Death Row. I ordered a Parrillada for 2 at 6:17 today and didn’t get it until 7:20 in curbside after they said it’d be ready in 30 minutes. It was really busy inside but I don’t care. The peppers and onions inside the to go tray felt like I could’ve taken a bite off some produce at HEB and it been just as fresh and barely grilled as my to go food. They said they misplaced our order and would make it fresh, but the cold fajita and chicken says otherwise. The complimentary margaritas for the delay didn’t make it better…

Nicely decorated mexican restaurant. The male server was not happy, helpful, welcoming or attentive. I can tell he only wanted our orders and for us to get out. The margaritas were cheaper during happier hour but I tried the Reina margarita which is top shelf and bigger but save the money and get the happy hour margarita. For dinner I had the fried avocado with meat and cheese inside with queso on the side. They also gave a Tortilla soup and a fajita taco with rice and beans. The food was good but wasn’t the best. I think if I tried a different menu item, maybe it’d be a better impression of the food they cook. I’d recommend you try it and hopefully you get a better waiter than we did.

First time eating here! Not disappointed! Friendly staff, and the food was served pretty quick for it being 5 people. Everything tasted great, highly recommend the stuffed/fried avocado! Worth the price for sure. Looking for any excuse to go back now.

First time here! Decent customer service and food. Great atmosphere and friendly environment with good music. No major complaints. Simply an observation that my cousin and I weren’t treated with the same courtesy as the Caucasian guest at the table next to us. It’s noteworthy that we are part of the LGBT community and are unapologetic with our style. I won’t it’s discriminatory because it wasn’t explicit but again, simply an observation! Overall, decent experience!

This will always be my favorite place! I come here all year long and always during my bday week. Marlena, the hostess is always so kind and greets me and my family with a big smile and by name! She is wonderful. The food is always on point. Love the margaritas too. I didn’t catch my servers name but she was great too! I know she was busy but she handled it great! Thank you so much!

Food always good, too loud. 11-16-22 great dinner with friends. Had the fajita milanesa. Absolutely delicious. 5 stars/ 3-12-23 visit, 5 stars definitely. Skipped bfast due to driving in from out of town so we were hungry. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon around 130ish. Absolutely fantastic. No wait, seated immediately. Server was very kind, pleasant and attentive. Started with chips & salsa as usual and moved on to an appetizer. We went with the Family appetizer cause it had a little of everything. It was absolutely delicious except the jalapeno. Great blend of seasoned ground beef apps and seasoned chicken apps. In the center was a beef filled deep fried jalapeno (same concept as the deep fried avocado). The jalapeno tasted very vinegary, like it came out of a jar. It wasn’t fresh off the plant. Other then that it was good. Wife ordered the Fajita tarascas and I order the beef milanesa. No complaints, absolutely fantastic. It was all hot, fresh and fast. I think we know our new visit time for our next visit. Definitely be back. Atmosphere still gets 3 stars….it is always super loud in there…..I like the peace and quiet
