Lovely experience and delicious food and wine pairings. Very pretty presentation. Would happily come and try the other dishes, everything we saw being served looked amazing as well.

An exceptional dining experience and cooking class! The menu was filled with local, seasonal flavours, perfectly complemented by thoughtful wine pairings. Attentive service made the evening even more enjoyable — truly unforgettable.
The Chef & Sommelier were both passionate and energetic. Reservations recommended.

La Place de Mougins – A Hidden Gem Worthy of a Star
An exceptional culinary experience from start to finish. The service was impeccable: warm, attentive, and professional without being stiff. The tasting menu was a true delight, with every dish beautifully executed and bursting with flavour. Special mention to the egg and the ravioli, both absolutely sublime. This is the kind of place the Michelin Guide should take a closer look at. A well-deserved spot among the region’s finest.

So charming and welcoming! We came to Mougins specifically to try La Place for lunch and it didn’t disappoint. Service was most hospitable and attentive. Food was beautifully presented and everything tasted very good. We sat on the terrace and enjoyed seeing the afternoon atmosphere in this quaint town. Definitely recommend!!!

Beautiful presentation, but fell short of expectations

I had high hopes for this experience, and while the first four courses were genuinely delightful — fresh, creative, and well-balanced — things started to dip with the ravioli, which lacked the finesse of the earlier dishes. The main course (pigeon) was unfortunately a real miss — so undercooked it was practically flying off the plate.

My biggest issue was with the seasoning throughout. The plates looked stunning, no question — but the flavours just didn’t match the visual impact, leaving the overall experience underwhelming for what should have been a standout gastronomic meal.

Service was polite but not particularly attentive. Our table remained wet from condensation for most of the meal, as no coasters were provided for chilled drinks, and it was only wiped down once — right at the end. Crumbs and bits of food stayed on the table between courses, which is a detail you’d expect to be managed at this level.

In a Michelin-starred setting, it’s often the little things that elevate the experience. Sadly, a few of those were missing here.

Michelin star level restaurant. Fine dining and great beautiful restaurant in the best spot of this magical medieval village. Every dish is carefully crafted and served to perfection. Great foie gras ravioli. Delicious Angus steak. The pigeon was very juicy. Delicious dessert..Bravo chef !!!

Really nice restaurant.
Right in middle of Mougins village.
Great food and service. All preparations were delicious and well prepared.
A bit pricey as it’s easily 100€ and more per head depends on how much wine you have.
A safe bet for a good French meal.
Decent wine list too. Pomerol by glass was superb ( 18€ a glass ).

La Place de Mougins is a culinary gem. The food was simply incredible, from its exquisite presentation to the divine taste. The service was excellent, with thoughtful touches and delightful tasters between courses. The chef personally visiting our table at the end was a wonderful gesture, adding to the already fantastic atmosphere. This restaurant is truly worth your time—an unforgettable dining experience.

Great service and a really nice atmosphere. The food however was a slight disappointment and did not live up to the expectations of a fine dining menu. They might have ambitions but I’ve had much better to that price. Took the signature menu and wine pairing. No complexity in the food and quite dull combinations. 4 out of 5 of the wines were perfect, but the dessert wine did not make it at all for my taste.

Fine dining? LOL I was genuinely appalled to discover that our food was served sealed in a slow-cook style plastic bag—a presentation that is completely unacceptable in any restaurant, let alone one that claims to offer a fine dining experience. There was no attempt at plating, no refinement in the delivery—just a plastic pouch dropped in front of us, as if we were in a cafeteria kitchen rather than a premium dining venue.

The waitress said the chef will give us an apology but finally they just give us a packed cake as a compensation. What a laugh??
