Outstanding food and service! Our party of 5 arrived 20 minutes after they opened on Saturday night and got one of the last tables. Our server was very attentive. All of our entrees were delicious. We left room for desserts and all three were very good; a great way to end our meal! When we departed every table was filled and about 15 people were waiting to get a table. We’ll definitely be back next time we are in the Mount Pleasant area.

Don’t go in there hungry.Because the beautiful aromas will drive you deliciously mad. Awesome thin crust margarita pizza and nice folks.

And they always respect my extra black olive fascination.

Great food, hands down one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a while. Very busy restaurant, especially for how small the space is. Hard to move around, but it sort of adds a certain charm to it. Server certainly had her hands full, yet still did a great job overall. Recommend checking it out if you’re okay being packed close to others. We didn’t mind!

I met a couple in the Dallas airport on my way to Isle of Palm. The couple lives in Charleston. I told them where I was heading, and they suggested La Pizzeria. They said it was.on the way and that I would enjoy the food.
So… we did stop there for dinner. Thank you, Alex and Terri… we definitely enjoyed the food. We would not have known about this restaurant, and I had not started talking to complete strangers.

We had a salad, veggie pizza, bottle of wine, and cheesecake!!!

Restaurant was clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The food was delicious!!!

We frequently visit the Mt Pleasant area, and this is our 3rd time eating at La Pizzerian in a couple of years. We were very disappointed this last time. Given, we did go on a Saturday night, though it was winter. The place was packed. We could not have a conversation at our table because it was so loud. The other tables were so close to us that we could reach out and touch them. I guess you could call it “cozy”. We went in, were seated promptly, and our order was taken fairly quickly. This place is a little pricey but in the past we had really enjoyed the food. It took a very long time for our food to come out after ordering. My husband ordered the Gluten Free penne which he said was pretty good but not great. I ordered the lasagna, having asked specifically about how spicy it was since I have stomach issues. When the food came out, I was very concerned that my lasagna was served in a bowl. There was much more sauce than there was lasagna. Not much meat, not much cheese, but lots of sauce. And it was pretty spicy. I was only able to eat about 3 bites of it. I was also surprised that when I ordered a soda, I was brought a 20-oz plastic bottle of it and a small glass of ice (and charged a fortune for it). By the time I got halfway through the bottle by pouring it repeatedly into the small glass, the ice in the glass had all melted and I drank the last half the bottle warm. Anyway, when the waitress took away our plates, I told her I did not care for the lasagna at all. She didn’t say anything– no offer to give a discount, nothing. I’ve never had that happen. So we paid a fortune for an OK meal for my husband and we won’t be back.

Friendly, attentive, nice atmosphere. Calzone reminded me of the ones I used to get as a kid in Connecticut, delicious 10/10. The limoncello mascarpone was pretty good as well 7/10.

Got a take out pizza and salad. The host was very upfront when I asked about the picante saying it is a good pizza but not one that’s ordered a lot. I figured I’d give it a shot and am thrilled I did. The picante pizza has amazing flavor with a subtle heat very tasty. The crust is light weight and thin with a little crunch. I’d definitely order again.

We celebrated a friends birthday here. Most of us had the lasagna and the birthday girl had the chicken Parmesan. We added garlic knots after seeing the tiny dish of thin bread slices brought out. The knots are deep fried dough. The oil may have been rancid due to the flavor these had. We had the large Caesar salad which was enough for two to share prior to sharing lasagna. We had a few desserts to top off the night. Both were amazing

Overall Id say 2.5. Another overpriced subpar Charleston spot, although the tiramisu was quite good. Price is what makes the critique more critical. When prices get higher so do expectations. $90+ for 2 people eating pizza and pasta based meals with dessert? You gotta step your game up or humble those prices a bit.

SMALL BUT MIGHTY!
During Fleet Week in 1997, I had the chance to port in NYC, and somewhere in that whirlwind I stumbled into a magical, authentic Italian restaurant whose name I’ve long forgotten—but whose flavors I’ve been chasing ever since.

La Pizzeria has officially ended that search. It’s now one of my all‑time favorite places to eat and firmly on my tell-everyone-who-will-listen list. I recently tried the Paccheri con Pesto from their specials menu, and I genuinely can’t put into words how incredible this dish is. I’m crossing my fingers they make it a permanent addition.

And if you’re a red wine lover, do yourself a favor and order the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. In my opinion, it even outshines The Prisoner.

This place is a gem—small, mighty, and unforgettable.
