Our first time there yesterday. We’re from South Bend but I work in Benton Harbor, I looked up a healthy place to eat at and La Pita showed up. So I looked at the menu they had beautiful dishes and good pricing. What I wanted was the chicken wings. My husband and I went there, there was only one car so we left, he wanted to go somewhere else but I said, let’s go try it. We went back went inside sat down, an Asian waiter with a big smile and an old man behind him. I thought it was a father and son. Anyways, the waiter was a very good waiter. Good at his job, making people feel welcome. Well! I didn’t have my glasses on so I said to my husband, it’s Mediterranean food own by Asian people? he said, no the chef is not Asian. Anytime an older person cook food for you, guarantee its good. The food was O for Awesome. I love grilled chicken, so tasty and so tender. It wasn’t salty I didn’t taste any salt. My husband ordered a falafel sandwich, it was great. The lentil soup was great no salt just simple and tasty. The salad was great. I’m going there again and I’m going to order something else. I don’t eat salt anymore and La Pita is the only restaurant that I know their food ain’t salty. Just a simple seasoning and some extra TLC. The food was onolicious.

I went to the bathroom when we arrived. It was dirty and had only a little toilet paper left. I told our waiter and he didn’t place more in the bathroom the entire 1.5 hours we were there. I know this because my daughter went to the bathroom after we ate and I sent her with some Kleenex from my bag just in case. She came back and confirmed that there was no more toilet paper. We ordered the family dinner for 4-6. The salad and hummus came first. The hummus was thin in texture and bland. He didn’t bring the pita for the hummus until after we finished eating our salad despite me asking if he was going to bring pita. My youngest son didn’t like salad and wanted to eat the hummus but had to wait till the pita arrived and watch us eat our salads. The pita was thin bland and tough to chew. The food came served on a large baking sheet an hour after we ordered. We had to ask for dinner plates because we were only given appetizer plates for the entire meal which was dirty with salad dressing and hummus from earlier. When we asked for new plates, the waiter said “I don’t know, let me see if we have any”. He brought clean appetizer plates. We asked for dinner plates and he said he wasn’t sure if they had any. The restaurant was not full. We were the first to arrive then 2 additional tables arrived after we were seated and ordered. The meat steak was good and the falafel was decent. The fries were crispy and the chicken was a little dry and lacked flavor. The rest of the food was forgettable and underwhelming. This was an overall bad experience. I should’ve left once I saw the bathroom but we wanted to give them a chance. We almost walked out waiting for our food for an hour. I regret staying.

Such a surprise. We were on a trip and our bodies were filled with junk food. This was such a wonderful meal, refreshing, their spice used enhancing food’s own flavor, their hummus and pita are especially good, the flavors were rich and fresh, I think it’s not easy to made such simple food delicious. We ordered a combination for 2 people, that was a lot of food, and good food. If I live anywhere nearby I would definitely visit again.

Boy did we luck out! Craving Mediterranean for weeks then, thanks to Google, WALA! While on a project at Whirlpool, we ducked in for a quick lunch. I couldn’t decide, everything looks so good, so I had the sampler.. No words can describe how perfectly prepared, delicious and satisfying it was. Just take a look at the pic. Tabouli, hummus, baba ghanoush and Fattoush! It’s Saturday, going to St Joe, Mi to check in on Whirlpool project today, with my wife. We’ll definitely do lunch…She’ll flip out, YOU WILL TOO! Don’t get much better than this.

Very nice service and a very polite young man waited on us. When we got back to our hotel, the salad we ordered was so bad — lettuce mushy and disgusting — it couldn’t be eaten, we had to throw it out immediately. The meat grape leaves were very mushy too, and didn’t have much flavor. The chicken shawarma sandwich was okay but certainly not the best I’ve ever had. I wanted to really like this place but food is too expensive to have to throw it out and I was greatly disappointed.

I visited St. Joseph for the first time this week and was recommended many restaurants to try during my stay. After not being wowed by any suggestions, I stumbled across La Pita while looking for a place to eat last-minute. I ordered the Falafel Dinner with lentil soup and it was incredible. On top of everything, the staff was friendly; the food came quickly; and the atmosphere was homey. If you like Lebanese food or are in the mood to support a deserving business, go here!

Love the food. Soup was as authentic as you get, Salad was fresh crisp and delicious too. I’d recommend ordering Shawarma as a sandwich instead of a lunch plate. Falafel and Hummus were both delicious. Service could’ve been a tad more pleasant, but since it’s a family owned place I understand as hey might be busy running everything. All in all 5 stars, definitely recommend if you’re craving Mediterranean.
