Located on the 5th floor of the Austin Proper Hotel, La Piscina is a convivial poolside restaurant and bar serving Texas-inspired Mexican cuisine. The vibrant, open space overlooks the downtown Austin bustle as groups convene over family-style platters, ceviches and table-top sizzling fajitas, with fresh seafood grilled over a wood fire and house-made tortillas from an open comal. This place is a MUST visit of you’re in Austin. The food is absolutely incredible in taste and presentation. Everything is so flavorful and fresh. The fajitas were DELICIOUS and those portions were huge! The atmosphere and service are also fantastic. It was such a great experience that I have to visit again before I leave!

The parking situation is interesting, there’s valet parking but as another reviewer posted is about $27 plus tip. The north garage near it if you stay more than 2 hours averages about the same. If you want to save money I recommend street parking. Once you enter the lobby you walk all the way down the hall to the elevators and up to the 5th floor. Food is widely delicious, expensive but well worth the trouble. Would love to visit again.

We went here for lunch and our server Danielle was so sweet and friendly! We went with her suggestions: the pineapple ribeye fajitas! It was probably the best fajitas i’ve ever had in my life. the meat was perfectly marinated and packed with flavor. it wasnt too tender which was great for us. we also got the margarita with jamaica and it was very strong which is a great plus! i highly recommend anyone to check out this place. it’s interior is also beautiful! the patio wasn’t too hot to sit out either, especially in texas heat.

Had a spectacular time at La Piscina tonight. Celebrated my mom’s birthday and Mackenzie & the rest of the team went above and beyond to make it a special time for her. The oysters were the best I have ever had. We also had the spicy ceviche, snapper tacos & Al pastor fajitas. They even gave us some churros as a birthday gift dessert. You get what you pay for. It’s worth every penny and then some.

Absolutely loved this place. I’ve yet to discover all restaurants in Austin and this one doesn’t disappoint. The margaritas were on point and the pineapple marinated ribeye was fantastic. Will be coming here again soon.
