I would give them five stars but they need to have somewhere to grow. I love coming here and having the authentic tacos with grilled onions. The bartenders are always awesome so I sit at the bar. If you are in Novato and have not been here you are missing it.

Have come here for years. This time, the service was very bad. Had to wait for silverware. The combination fajita and shrimp platter’s had little flavor and the waitress had very poor service. Will think twice before coming back. They weren’t even busy.

Normally, they do a good job, but tonight was off. The hostess wiped off our table, but wiped much the food from the table on to our seats. It’s seemed the waitstaff was uncoordinated and the drink order was off. I hope it was a fluke. There was a banner outside on the wall, that said ‘el ray’. Did they change ownership?

La Pinata has very good authentic Mexican food, reasonable portions and pricing. Take out Services very good. Comfortable family atmosphere in the restaurant and bar. Very good service

Was very impressed with the chorizo burrito on the breakfast menu, served all day. For only $7.25 you get two eggs scrambled with chorizo, tomatoes, and onions. Wrapped in a flour tortilla with bacon. Servers came by the table several times to refill my ice tea. Can’t wait to come back and try some other items on the menu 8)

Very tasty Mexican food with some unique dishes. I had the shrimp and spinach enchiladas tonight and they were delicious. The cozuelas are also a good choice…kind of a stew.
It’s definitely worth visiting for the food because the location is kind of bleh…inside a parking lot next to the DMV and Goodwill. Not exactly picturesque views!

So much better when the cousins owned this place. Less grease and a delightful menu but now they rely on a diverse tequila offering as their brand distinction. For me, “gracias, pero mi abuela cocinaba mejor”.
