This right here is some of the best Mexican food you will get in the area, guaranteed. Currently eating a shrimp burrito as I type this and I just felt that I had to let anyone reading this know that it’s almost TOO good. Don’t let the grocery store exterior fool you, this place is top notch.

I am always around this neighborhood but this place never caught my attention. One of my coworkers also lives around here so she had ordered food from here before, “all the time” as she claims.
One of those days that we did not bring lunch to work she suggested Mexican food from this place and since the place never caught my attention, I said no at first. We decided to take a walk and I decided to go with her and my Twin to get their lunches and see what I craved on the way there or back to work.
It was a completely surprise to me:
-First thing I have to give them is: the cleanliness of this Mexican “Deli” is surprising. Everything was so clean that shined.
-Second thing is: the great, better than great… Excellent customer service and attention they provide/have.
-Third thing is: FOOD IS DELICIOUS. I am completely obsessed with the place now.
Only can think about the phrase “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. The cover is this store is not the best, but the inside is like Narnia. A dream come true. Lmao!
PS: My Tacos were super full of filling and full of meat. Really LOVED the flavors and textures.

the staff is sometimes nice but sometimes they can be rude. You have to repeat yourself when you calling to deliver because they always forget something or mess something up. There food is somewhat expensive but i love there nachos and they tacos. I always order from here. They have two places one to quick order and the other side you can sit and eat they have beer and soda and juice. I order the pernil nachos and the carne asada tacos. The 1 train is right when you come out. And if you cross the street the 12 bus is there too. This is a Mexican restaurant. They deliver until 3:00am. I think they 24 hours.

I ordered flautas de pollo and some chicken tacos. The flautas were so delicious and made fresh. The tacos were a bit on the drier side. Portions are filling. Try to order things they have to make fresh is my advice to you.

Great tasting authentic Mexican food! Had the chance to enjoy their “Chicken tacos a la lomita” and was not disappointed. Their horchata is also realllllyyy good! Some places make theirs too cinnamony or sugary but here its perfect.

Food is amazing but customer service sucks. They delivered to my house yesterday no problem, but all of a sudden today I’m speaking to this guy who’s really rude in the phone hanging up on me when I ask to order for delivery again. He asks me the address, then tells me they don’t do delivery to where I live. Doesn’t explain what the issue was or what made him so mad.. which is confusing because yesterday’s encounter was nothing but pleasant, I even tipped the delivery guy. I live 6 blocks away, not to sound entitled but if there was at least an explanation as to why they all of a I would have understood.

I like la lomita (original name) cause it’s open 24hrs. But 6 dollars a taco is insane, without any cheese or extra toppings. Getting 3 tacos is a 20 dollar meal. I don’t understand why the owner wouldn’t consider .25 or .50 increase and just driving it up that fast. Doubt the foot traffic is gonna be the same unless it’s after hours. The chicken tacos and shrimp are good but not 20$ good. Sometimes I get my tacos and the meat tastes old and reheated which I don’t mind for an appropriate $ and time at night. But for 20$ I expect my meal to be freshly cooked every time. That needs to be addressed. If you are going to drive up the prices make sure it reflects the food quality. That’s pitiful.

Food is bad quantity now, worker at front always have a bad attitude, the place is very dirty with a lot of expired merchandise you can wonder why they have the rating they have from the health department I seen how dirty the kitchen floors are. They have a C rating very dirty and a health hazard.

The Name of the place is La Pilita now, I think they changed owners but the food and people exactly the same. Prices never changed till recently but only just a tiny bit.The food never disappoints, big portions.I survived working night shifts on this place during covid, they were one of the few places open. My Favorites are American Chicken Quesadila, Steak Burrito, Chicken Enchilladas in green sauce, & Philly Cheese Steak w/fries. Yes a Cheese steak, it’s slammin.
