Just had an amazing dinner at La Pierre Bleue.
Started with their salmon appetizer, so fresh and delicious. Then I tried their house specialty, the Vol-au-Vent, and wow… absolutely amazing. And their portions are very generous.
To top it off, the service was fantastic. Super friendly and attentive the whole night.

As a Caribbean Chef, I often expect less flavor when I travel to Europe. But this time I was gladly wrong. The food was amazing, the service was great. Did I say the food was magnificent?! I enjoyed every bite of every dish. Hats off to the chefs!

Requires a reservation for lunch & dinner.

Mainly caters to locals who speak French.

Tables are located close together, whoever sits in a booth will struggle to get in and out of their seat.

Restaurant has restrooms/toilets.

Food was good in particular the veal dish.

The vol au vent pastry (not pictured) sat a bit long before reaching the table and was soggy. Flavours were good. Chicken was tender.

The stroganoff meat was tough and the sauce was overpowering. Avoid.

Desserts were ok.

No English speaking staff, very difficult to communicate with unlike other places in Belgium (where waitstaff even when speaking with us speaking in French were much easier to communicate with) and the rest of Europe.

The female waitress was a bit pretentious (we can speak a small bit of French and did our best) and despite them knowing we had difficulty speaking French and our best attempts they spoke quite fast and in very overly complicated sentences despite knowing we were tourists.

They tried to charge us for a side salad that we did not recieve, we pointed it out and had it corrected.

They asked us for a tip but did not seem to ask the locals for one and the service for us was subpar. One cannot assume just because customers speak English that they are Americans and will recieve a tip.

We enjoyed our lunch overall.

I hope the staff take the time to translate this review (as we did prior to coming to the restautant in order to converse properly) and learn basic phrases to be better accomodating to non locals. This restaurant has high 4.9 star reviews we felt it deserved more of a 4.5 star score.

La Pierre Bleue is located in the heart of the extremely touristic Brussels city center, but it is thankfully not touristic at all. We might have been the only tourists there last Saturday night. All the dishes were very well executed, and I can definitely recommend the sea bass.
In my opinion, what makes the restaurant truly lovely is the atmosphere and the service. The chef works in a tiny open kitchen and casually chats with the guests, which adds a personal touch. The service is genuinely friendly without ever crossing the line.
I’ve been to other restaurants in the same price range (sometimes even cheaper), and they are often far too pretentious. Here, they’ve managed to create an atmosphere of elegance without imposing an overly serious profile.
My only remark would be about the price of the croquette dish. It was delicious, but I find €18 for two croquettes a bit too much. Otherwise, I totally recommend a visit!

In my on-line reservation for 7 people, I had mentioned that we came for our wedding lunch. We just got married at the Town Hall. None of the staff, said anything when we arrived. Even when I mentioned it AGAIN that we just got married, not a congratulatory comment or class of cava was offered.
Food is about wellbeing and atmosphere. It’s about being welcoming to the guests.
The food was ok. Nothing special. Correct. Nice presentation. The traditional dessert Dame Blanche (a national favorite) was a disappointment.
All of us who was there, we live in Brussels. So not tourists traveling through. We had hoped to find a place where to celebrate this important day for us, a place that we would happily return to – but we will not.
To be attentive to your guests doesn’t cost anything. It should come naturally in that line of work.
The make things worse, they made us hurry to leave the place! I gasped. For me that is a big no no. We are the type of guests that would have ordered more to drink and wanted to savour the moment. Unfortunately, that was not possible.
Perhaps the staff needs vacation or the owner needs to be present for the staff to perform better. Who knows?

Great option for authentic Belgian food close to the Grand Place. The restaurant recently won a prize for having the best vol-au-vent in Brussels. Of course, it is difficult to say if it is actually the best, but it certainly is very good. The cheese croquettes were tasty as well. Very highly recommended!

Outstanding restaurant. The service was attentive but not overbearing. Each course a master class in quality, taste and presentation.

By far the best restaurant of our three day stay in Brussels. Also a great value for the quality of the food presented.

La Pierre Bleue is an exceptional restaurant and truly one of Brussels’ culinary highlights. With its outstanding food, welcoming service, and cozy atmosphere, it’s easy to understand why it receives such consistently high ratings.

The food is simply fantastic — refined, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish feels carefully crafted and on the level of top-quality restaurants. Standout choices include the hand-cut Irish beef carpaccio, lobster ravioli, braised lamb cheeks, and the unforgettable moelleux au chocolat, which is rich, perfectly baked, and a must-try.

The service deserves special praise. The staff are incredibly friendly, polite, and professional, making guests feel comfortable and genuinely cared for from the moment they arrive. The experience feels smooth, relaxed, and personal without ever being intrusive.

The atmosphere is another strong point. The restaurant is modern yet cozy, with a romantic and intimate feel that works equally well for special occasions, date nights, solo dining, or family meals. It’s a place where you naturally want to take your time and enjoy the moment.

Prices may feel on the higher side for some, but the quality of the food, the attention to detail, and the level of service fully justify the cost. This is a restaurant that delivers excellent value through experience, not just the plate.

Overall, La Pierre Bleue offers an outstanding dining experience in Brussels — refined cuisine, warm hospitality, and a beautiful setting. A place worth returning to and confidently recommending.

I had a nice dinner at this restaurant. The food was very good and our waiter was very kind and charming. We did expect, however, a little bit more complexity in flavours for the price we pay and the rating this restaurant has on Google. But I would certainly be happy to come back and try other things from the menu.
