Went with friends for dinner and ordered the steak, short ribs, and wrapped salmon. The brie appetizer was great, as was the short ribs. Salmon was good, not amazing. French onion soup and creme brûlée awesome.
The reason for two stars is that the steak came out as a medium well/more well done when a medium was ordered. We pointed this out to our waiter and said this doesn’t look medium- looks more well done, he took the plate back, then came back to our table with the steak fully cut open and asked does not that not look medium to you? We were all pretty put off given we clearly said it didn’t look medium and that was the very reason it was even brought to his attention in the first place, then he returned to the table with the same steak. It felt like very confrontational, and we felt uncomfortable and just said it’s fine we will take it. The waiter did question if we were sure, but at that point we all were pretty uncomfortable that he even came back to challenge the ask when clearly it would not have been brought up if it wasn’t medium, so we just let it go. She didn’t eat any of the steak, and the waiter when he picked up the plate didn’t ask why it wasn’t touched and we paid for a full steak that wasn’t eaten. Would not return due to this.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. 10 stars . Every time I frequent this restaurant I leave with stars in my eyes and a very happy tummy. If Gordon Ramsey visited, he’d rate this place 20 stars . Yes. It’s that good. The service is PHENOMENAL. Especially Aaron. He is hands down my favorite waiter and an astounding GM. I ask to have him as my waiter every time and have no plans of stopping anytime soon. He makes me feel welcomed, treats my friends and family like royalty. Spoils me rotten every time and I literally get so excited every time I go. The desserts are to die form. The rockfish is out of this world. Tonight we got to try the lobster rolls and they were to DIE FOR. Their seafood puts all other seafood to shame. It is fresh. Cooked witj nothing but perfection. Their food is cooked from scratch so trust me when I tell you that this is food worth waiting for. It is NEXT level fine dining. Best in Fredericksburg Stafford area hands down. No other place can even begin to compare. I literally cannot speak highly enough about this incredible restaurant. They could easily charge 100.00 a dish and I’d still show up. My fiancé lives for their steak. If you’re a food snob and live for the sophistication of a quaint yet city like restaurant with brick interior and food that tastes like it just left the kitchen run by Gordon Ramsey himself, than I highly suggest you stop by. As many times as you’d like because I promise you this. You will be back. Again. And again.

We went to La Petite on a Monday night to celebrate a birthday. We sat in the bar area, it was a cozy little area. We pretty much had the place to ourselves, so it was very quiet. There was only one other couple in the bar area.
Our dinner was delicious.
We started with the Octopus and Lobster Eggrolls appetizers. Our main course, I had the Cod with Hollandaise sauce, and my friend had the Veal Scallopini.
You first eat with your eyes and the presentation of our dishes was beautiful.
Our dinner was absolutely delicious. We shared our dinners, and every bite was consistent in texture and flavor.
The service was excellent, the timing between courses was not rushed.
I look forward to returning for another dining experience.

First visit and the food was incredible. The French Onion Soup was delicious. The cheese on top was thick and perfectly toasted. The lamb fell right off the bone and scalloped potatoes were the perfect compliment to it.

How have I not been here before this? The atmosphere and service was top-notch, and the food is now my favorite in Fredericksburg. Every dish was better than the one before. The eggplant appetizer was probably my favorite dish, although everything was exceptional. Crème brûlée was the perfect way to end the meal.
Our waiter made the meal even more extraordinary. I’m sorry I didn’t get his name.

Wonderful drinks at bar followed by dinner. It had been a few years since visiting and we are so happy we did. The stuffed shrimp and crap stuffed flounder were the best meal we’ve had in a very long time. We will definitely be back.

My lovely wife and I picked La Petite Auberge to enjoy what we would characterize as a fancy lunch. The staff was phenomenal! We originally chose to sit in the dining room, but we changed our minds shortly thereafter. Our waiter and the other staff were very accommodating and seated us in the lounge.

We are so glad that we picked this restaurant! The food was great as well. We shared an escargot appetizer and then enjoyed some soup. (Wow, I sound old.) I opted for the butternut squash soup, and Kim ordered the French onion soup. They were both outstanding. The butternut squash soup had a web/spiral of cream and a dollop of a nice mango chutney in the middle of it. Do I even have to mention the French onion soup? It’s a French restaurant, of course, the French onion soup was on point.

For our main dishes, I chose beef medallions in a lovely sauce that also had sauteed baby bella mushrooms. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was lovely. Kim decided on the quiche Lorraine, and it was even better than she expected.

Kudos, and many thanks to the folks at La Petite Auberge!
