La Pesceria Barberini exceeded our expectations! The seafood was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The seafood tasting meal and mixed seafood salad and shrimps rolled with kadayıf were absolutely delicious, and the presentation was just as impressive as the taste.

What truly made the experience special was the service. The two female servers were amazing — it was genuinely impressive to see how smoothly and professionally they were running the place. They were attentive, warm, and incredibly welcoming. We felt truly taken care of from start to finish.

The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a relaxed dinner in Rome. If you’re looking for high-quality seafood and outstanding hospitality, this is definitely the place to go. We will absolutely be back!

La Pesceria Re di Roma is a renowned seafood restaurant located in the San Giovanni district of Rome, Italy. Established in 2015 by Fabrizio Giannini and Stefano Di Somma, both passionate about the sea, the restaurant aims to bring the essence of fresh seafood to the heart of Rome. Their philosophy emphasizes the importance of seasonal fish and the rich offerings of the Mediterranean, particularly the nutrient-rich blue fish. The establishment offers a variety of high-quality seafood dishes, including raw fish platters, fried calamari, and pasta with seafood, all prepared with the freshest ingredients.

The restaurant operates as a “ristopescheria,” combining a seafood shop and a dining area. Customers can select fresh fish and seafood from the display and have it prepared on-site. The menu features a range of dishes such as fritti di misto (mixed fried seafood), ravioli con gamberetti e pecorino (ravioli with shrimp and pecorino cheese), spaghetti alle vongole (spaghetti with clams), and tonnarelli ai funghi (tonnarelli pasta with mushrooms).

La Pesceria Re di Roma is praised for its friendly service and inviting atmosphere. While the restaurant is located on a bustling street, it maintains a casual and relaxed ambiance, making it suitable for various occasions, from quick lunches to leisurely dinners. Reservations are recommended due to its popularity among locals and visitors alike.

For those seeking an authentic seafood experience in Rome, La Pesceria Re di Roma offers a delightful blend of quality, tradition, and innovation.

This place serves the best carpaccio ever, featuring three kinds of fresh fish, topped with vibrant tomato and pistachio for added texture and flavor. The spaghetti with clams is perfectly cooked and glossy with a delicious, balanced sauce. Pairing the meal with a glass of chilled white wine really elevated the experience, and finishing with a good coffee made for a satisfying close. An outstanding seafood meal—fresh ingredients, well-prepared classics, and great value.

Decent fish menu selection. They have fresh fish of the day that you can choose from. Their paccheri with scampi in tomatoes was very good as well as the fried calamari with small fish. The sauté cozze however is so and so…not really fresh so we are not able to finish. Fast and prompt service.

The WORST experience ever for the past 10days in Italy. We went from the North to the South of Italy and ate in so many restaurants, this is the only one with 0 service. Honestly, except for serving dishes, nothing else……
1. We entered the restaurant with rain. And ask for a table for two seats. There was an elder guy sitting there and just staring at us repeating for a table. NO ONE ANSWERED. Then a young man came to take us to the seats. Everything about the man’s service was great, but the girl….. The waitress’s service was baaaad… like literally, are you looking for an argument or something?? No need for the bad attitude…. not sure if it’s about race cus there were some white people came after us and she was not like that.
2. The Pescatora Rice was like almost raw when it first came, not even half cooked. We asked for another cook for the rice and waited for about almost 20 minutes. Yes, with nothing on the table (cus we’ve finished the fish and everything ), for 20 minutes. just to cook the rice a little more. Hilarious.
3. And the oysters were bitter somehow. The raw fish tasting was not bad. But the main course rice was so salty. And there were four clams were not opened after cooking. As I know it’s a sign of loosing freshness when it comes to clams.

You wan some ream Mediterranean sea food? Go there an you will have everything you need in affordable prices. The service is very polite and open to explain every aspect of seafood. A local family runs the business and you will find fresh fishes to choose by yourself. We ordered grilled fish, mixed fried seafood and steamed mussels. I can say that they tasted like in my homeland. And I come from a fishing harbor village of a Greek island and I know when it comes to fish. If you find yourself in Rome and you want to eat something different than pasta or meat l, give it a try. You will not regret it. Thank you very much for the experience.

Simply delicious seafood. I came here for the scampi and the crudo and was not disappointed. You will pay 50 to 60 euro more than what you would pay in a less touristy area but when in Rome… 2 crudi, 1 frittura mista, 2 primi, 1 grigliata mista, 1 bottle of wine, 1 acqua came out to 229 USD. Really delicious and well prepared fish.

I recommend you call and make a reservation since even on a Wednesday night the place was full by 830 pm.

La Pesceria Barberini is a fantastic seafood restaurant, offering fresh, high-quality dishes in a casual yet refined setting. The grilled fish and pasta dishes are standout options, with bold flavors and generous portions. Service is attentive, though the restaurant can get busy, leading to longer wait times. Prices are reasonable for the quality, making it a great choice for seafood lovers looking for an authentic Roman dining experience.

The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between casual dining and gourmet execution, making it a great choice for both locals and travelers. The seafood is freshly sourced, ensuring consistent quality across its seasonal menu. If you’re looking to experience Rome’s seafood scene without the tourist-heavy locations, this spot delivers a true taste of coastal Italian cuisine.
