What a nice surprise in Pretoria North.
Kid friendly diner with amazing specials.
Massive place with a great atmosphere!
Massive screen for sport events and live entertainment!
This place is very clean and precise, and the decor is detailed and on point!
If you looking for space and open feel and a little upmarket, this is the place!
Great service but cant comment on the food.
Great venue!

Great atmosphere but could improve, maybe it’s because we went during the week. The bathroom id is outside, could be more convenient if it was in the restaurant. Our waiter was great. 2 if waiters checked on us twice every 30 minutes. Good place for beautiful photos.

Had a baby shower there at the swimming pool area. It was great. Love the swimming pool area… spacious and enough tables. Palm trees makes it exquisite..The children swam the whole time. Pool is shallow and deeper in the middle area..
Thank you to all the waiters for the good service.
Thank you, Amanda

I visited the Diner at La Perna for drinks and therefore can’t really comment on the food, but their drinks menu has an extensive variety with something for everyone. The highlight for me, however, was their outdoor kids play area (5 out of 5). It is spacious, well-equipped, and has some shaded areas for those warm days. We enjoyed our visit, the kids had a blast, and I will definitely be back in the future to try their food. Highly recommend a visit for families.

We went to La Perna on the 31st May 2025 at 14:00 , Our waiter was Thabo, we were 6 (4 adults and 2 kids) when we arrive at the restaurant we waited 20minutes for menu and a waiter, then we placed an order for drinks still we had to wait 40minutes just for drinks there after we placed an order for our food and we had to wait 2hours just for 3 cheeseburgers for adults, 2cheeseburger for kids and 1 T-bone steak and the boring part is that when we receive our food it was cold and not well done but we asked nicely to our waiter Thabo that we want well done not medium rare. The service was bad, food was bad, our waiter lack communication towards his customers I think he needs training, no one was cleaning our table, this is the place I’ll never recommend to anyone else, I rather go spend time in the bush than to go to La Perna 780 Montana

We visited La Perna Diner for family time and a birthday celebration. Our group was 8 adults, 6 teenagers, and 2 kids — a big table and a significant bill. Unfortunately, the experience was terrible from start to finish.

Service was bad to non-existent. We asked for 3 glasses of water, and the waiter told us we couldn’t get any because their water was “contaminated” — his exact words — and that we had to buy bottled water instead. For a group spending a few thousand rand, refusing three glasses of basic tap water felt petty and greedy.

We also brought a birthday cake. Beforehand, we phoned and were told the corkage fee would be R250, but they would accept R150 if we cut the cake ourselves. We even brought our own paper plates to help. Yet when the bill arrived, they charged R250 anyway. The manager was called, and they refused to honour the arrangement they agreed to on the phone.

The bad service didn’t end there. Glasses piled up on the table. Drink orders took ages. When the food finally arrived, the last three pizzas only came out after everyone else had already finished eating.

This was my second visit — both equally bad. The pizza itself was good, but not nearly good enough to justify terrible service, dishonest charges, and such a poor overall experience.

With all the dining options in the North of Pretoria, I genuinely don’t believe you can find worse service. I will never set foot here again.

Did our year end function, the service was slow and food cold. You think if someone spend R30k plus, service and food will be better.

We attended La Perna for a kiddies party. We ordered three burgers waited longer than 1 hour. Waiters ignored us. Horrible experience indeed. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

We had a great time apart from rather slow service, but unfortunately the whole family fell ill after eating there. I tried to contact the restaurant regarding this to warn them, but none of the listed numbers ring through to someone. I also tried messaging them on Facebook, but for some reason the message disappeared. Other than that, great vibe and menu and very child friendly, but could improve on service and contactability.

This place doesn’t even deserve a one star. We celebrated my birthday we had a table of almost 30 people and let me tell you the service is up to shit! We had to stand up and call the waiters to take our orders, waited so long for food. This place is so beautiful but very bad service even the manager couldn’t sort it out.
