Little dive with seriously authentic food. FAST and friendly service. Puebla style, but plenty of Tex-Mex for the gringos.

Friendly staff and good quality! The best Mexican food in Kennett. We enjoyed our experience. There was a constant stream of patrons dining in and grabbing takeout. The tacos are tasty. Our only minor issue is that the meat was a tad dry.

If this isn’t the best Mexican place within a 50 mile radius of here, then I want to try the place that beats it.

All you really need are a couple of basic tacos, rice and beans, and some chips and pico with guac. Whole meal is under 20 bucks and you’ll have enough for leftovers. The flavors are all outstanding and fresh.

Eating at places like these is always better than eating at fancy places. This food feeds your soul.

Love this place SO MUCH! Such friendly people, and the best tacos & burritos I’ve found in town so far.

Also – the quesabirria tacos are AMAZING. They even come with a cup of the most delicious broth.

Julian is the nicest man. We’re regulars and he always so appreciative of seeing us. I am plant based and he made me a huranche that was plant based (after raising an eyebrow to my husband lol). He made sure I was happy.

Small dine-in area with a cozy feel and great food. Huge portions. Great nachos and horchata. I ordered the spicy red sauce on my burrito ahogado and it was *very* spicy.

Solid 4 stars, good eats.
Two of us shared an enchilada platter and 4 tacos. We were quite satisfied.
The enchiladas had the mild red sauce and it was delicious. Tried 3 different taco meats and each was as good as the other.
We would return here if we are in the area again.

I absolutely love the pastor tacos at La Pena and eat them at least twice a week! I have eaten tacos at several other restaurants/trucks/gas stations in the area and La Pena has the best meats by far. At La Pena I’m always greeted with a smile and “Hey! How are you! Nice to see you! Welcome!” I love the people just as much as the tacos.
