As a visitor to STL area for the holidays, this Pâtisserie is so quaint! We were picking up an order of their International Cookie Collection and a savory bread pudding for the holiday season. ✨ We also got some iced coffee and picked up a Red Velvet Basque cake to enjoy as a bonus (because why not?!). ☕ Also, the interior decorations were very festive and cute – the combo of the tree, garland, pine cones, etc. supported the holiday feeling. The service was also very friendly and attentive. ☕

It’s been 3 weeks since my visit to CHOUQUETTE for the afternoon tea, and I CANNOT STOP THINKING ABOUT IT!! Short version: Delicious, delectable, not one item on the docket that wasn’t tasty and delicious <3 I am still dreaming about their crab quiche, mini po-boy, the pecan scone!

Now, a deep dive: my boyfriend set up this outing for my birthday, and I couldn’t have been happier. It was 60$ per person, totaling at 120$ together. Now, you pay that ahead of time as a reservation, but their is expected tip after the experience, so prepare by either bringing cash or you must buy another item while there and tip on that purchase. Which wasn’t a huge deal for me because after tasting the delicious food here I was already preparing to take home another item or two to enjoy the next day 🙂

We had two teas here: a spicy, warm, deep earl grey that was perfect with or without cream or sugar. At first, I added both to my drink but by the end of the teapot I was drinking it as is. The second tea was a mango elderflower (green?) tea I believe, and man, that was the JUICIEST sweetest tea I’ve ever had! Again, no need for extra sugar and wasn’t the type of tea to add crème to really. Both have me wondering where they source their tea, and I have been on a search for similar to have at home!

The savories: honestly, I was surprised at how much I loved the savory part of the meal. It included 4 savories, a mini muffelata, a spiced (not hot spicy just super flavorful!) crab quiche, a mini lox crème cheese bagel (on mini croissant rather than bagel), and a mini po-boy. I am still dreaming about all of them, and have now made the muffelata and lox croissant at home (the closest I can get at least!).

The second tier which was sweets: 4 sweet treats, the strawberry parfait was super juicy and bursting with flavor, the bread pudding had a wonderful rum sauce on top, and the chefs choice which was some sort of lavender and pistachio inspired mini loaf were all delightful, but the blackberry tarte was my surprise shining star of this tier! I am usually not a blackberry fan but man this was amazing!

Our 3rd tier featured our last two treats: a strawberry matcha macaron with white chocolate, and a pecan scone with a praline butter. The scone was perfect, crusty but soft and not unmoist in the slightest, the butter adding an excellent creamy taste. The macaron was quite sweet, and I would never say that it wasn’t flavorful or delicious, but I think at this point I was beginning to be sugared out.

Which also brings up the point that if you were unaware, you get boxes to bring whatever you don’t eat home!! Omg I felt so foolish, I thought you had to eat it all or leave it there so my boyfriend and I were trying to power through

Overall, the afternoon tea experience at CHOUQUETTE was my first afternoon tea experience anywhere, and has now set an extremely high bar for any other afternoon tea we decide to try, thank you CHOUQUETTE and Chef Simone for making my 27th birthday magical!!

This place is super cute and the staff are super sweet and informative. The pasties and the teas are amazing. The macaroons, the creme brulee puffs, the corn muffins, I can go on. You will want to try everything because it all looks and taste so good.

The chef Simone knows what she’s doing and puts everything into each item ❤️ my husband and I are making a tier list for ourselves and this is in our S tier category!

I highly recommend ordering a cake from this bakery. I am not from St. Louis and do not live there, and I was planning a birthday celebration for my mother-in-law.

La Pâtisserie Chouquette made the entire process easy! They responded to my inquiry almost immediately, and they put a lot of thought into the design of the cake by asking questions about my mother-in-law’s hobbies and interests.

The cake was ready for pickup on-time, and they even gave me written instructions on how to “take care” of the cake before serving it.

The cake was beautiful, and my mother-in-law loved it! It had her favorite color and favorite flavor, and it tasted amazing! It was so artistic that somebody touched it because “he didn’t believe it was a real cake”.

Thanks so much for adding to the loveliness of this celebration!

It’s a lot of pretty looking foods with basic taste. I got a total of 4 items for almost 40 dollars and ended up throwing away my drink after 3 sips …with my 3 pastry items I had a red velvet cake thing it was a 3 out of 10 I didn’t even eat the other two they are currently still in my car I ended up going to QuikTrip for breakfast and spending $12

LOVED wonderful bread and their atmosphere!
Their staff was nice too. It was a nice experience to visit their bakery in the morning. Their chocolate croissant had beautiful layers. And I like that their bread was not crazy sweet. I want to go back to this nice bakery again.

I have to say, the customer service here is absolutely top-notch. This was my first visit to La Pâtisserie Chouquette, and I was completely blown away by the experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I felt transported to another place—like I had walked straight into a charming bakery in France. The interior is stunning, with an atmosphere that is both warm and elegant, and every detail is thoughtfully curated.

The energy in the air was incredible. Even though the line was long, the excitement and camaraderie among the customers made it enjoyable. Everyone was so cordial and happy to be there, which told me I was in the right spot. Conversations flowed easily, and I could feel the shared enthusiasm for the amazing bakery items being crafted behind the counter.

While waiting in line, I decided to try one of their potato loaves, and it became a fun moment of connection with those around me. The woman to my right ordered one as well, inspired by my choice, and the lady at the register to my left added it to her order at the last moment. It was such a unique and delightful experience that perfectly reflects the welcoming and communal vibe of this bakery.

As for the food—it is simply incredible. Everything tastes so fresh, natural, and thoughtfully made. It’s the kind of food that not only satisfies but also feels good for your body and soul. La Pâtisserie Chouquette is truly a gem, and I can’t wait to come back for more.

We stopped in yesterday to try the crème brûlée pastry puff. We ate there so I had the quiche in my husband had the bourbon pecan roll and both were delicious. We got some goodies to go. Everything that we tried was delicious. I got a butter croissant to go, and I think this is the best croissant. I have tried in St. Louis. The chef came out and spoke with us, and she was very kind and just made the visit even that much more pleasant. I had a tarot milk to drink- super yummy as well!
