Considering Elgin has mainly nothing but Mexican restaurants this is probably #4 of the best in town. Service is okay but they could be faster and nicer. Food is good. I recommend the mini taquito plate. Try it with the green salsa. Definitely better than what you would get at Jalisco’s. The margaritas are also good.

Saturday January 31,2026, Me and friend went to have breakfast, 1.The service was bad, The waitress took our order and brought it to us. She never came back to check on us.
2. I went to the bathroom and it was nasty, There was pee on the toilet seat, There was no soap. And the floor was not clean.
3. Last but not least my friend got food poisoning! I would not recommend the restaurant to anyone!

From all the Tex Mex restaurants we have tried in Elgin this one is the best. Handmade tortillas were on point I would have added a picture of the before but was too hungry. Below is a half eaten enchilada con bistec plate that didn’t last long. Also the lemonade is fresh and delicious.

If I could leave a zero star review I would. We had bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers, chicken tortilla soup, chicken enchilada and, carne asada. The poppers were very obviously reheated, the soup was basically chicken broth with rotisserie chicken and tomatoes. The chicken enchilada was covered in a green sauce when I specifically asked for queso. The carne asada was not too flavorful and having to eat it with a plastic fork seemed off. The service was okay at first, then when we just wanted our tab to leave she was too busy sitting down with the other servers talking. Save your money and head to Meyer’s BBQ down the road..

Ordered carne asada, a pollo soup, and stuffed jalapeño appetizer, the appetizer was obviously reheated, the soup was more broth than soup and lacked flavor, the carne asada was ok but having to eat it with a plastic fork is not pleasant. Definitely worth not recommend, go to Meyers, they won’t leave you disappointed.

Our party of four was welcomed and seated immediately by a very kind and friendly hostess. We placed our order and received our appetizers as our meal were being prepared.
We all enjoyed our choices. I decided to try their shrimp burrito and really enjoyed it.

I love this place. Best Mexican food in Elgin I’ve had, hands down. The fajitas mix plate is my usual, but it’s all delicious. Every once in a while, there’s a dude with a guitar that plays and sings for the house. Love it!

Driven by so many times. Decided to stop and so glad we did! The staff is exceptional and the refried beans made me cry… just like mom’s. Home made corn tortillas, too. My chili relleno was perfect, hearty and spicy. We’ll be back!
