As a fellow Ecuadorian, I love trying new places with Ecuadorian cuisine so I had high hopes for this place. At first glance, walking in, the place looked clean but was empty/slow. I came around 6pm and was surprised it wasn’t busier, that probably should have been my first red flag. When we looked at the menu, it listed prices in cash and card which was another red flag. The prices were also higher than other Ecuadorian places in the area. The waitress brought us the wrong sodas and forgot to give us straws. We let it slide because she seemed frazzled from another table. There were 3 groups dining including ourselves. My mother ordered a fresh juice but sent it back because it tasted sour/bad. The waitress tried to bring a replacement but my mom couldn’t stomach it after the bad taste from the first one. I ordered the breaded fish plate which was tasty. My sister and mother ordered the carne asada plates and they enjoyed them. The tostones on each plate were huge and you could tell they were made to order, not reheated. The food was tasty but the prices were higher than other Ecuadorian places in the area. The waitress made sure to come over and check on us, she charmed us. We made sure to give her a $15 cash tip however when we received the receipt we were charged a 15% percent tip AND for our to-go containers. In summary the food and service was good but not great and the shady cashier tactics with high prices make it unlikely that we’d return.

We went to La Panterita for the 1st time yesterday Sunday. It was a full house…cozy little restaurant. We were seated about 10 minutes after arriving. We ordered ceviche and 2 marinera (seafood) soups. They were beyond amazing! Service was on point. I will definitely visit again.

By far, the best Ecuadorian restaurant in the area.
The food was very hot and the service was really great. It’s a small but cozy and clean place.

Definitely try the Caldo de Salchicha and the Guatita

I just had lunch here (took it to go) and WOW!
I never had such an amazing lunch like this in a very long time: I had the veggie soup which was out of this world! It’s milky looking with some cheese I think, sounds strange but absolutely delicious. It came with a small potato salad which also was amazing. The main meal was white rice and fish… and let me tell you PERFECTLY COOKED AND SEASONED!!! I usually love lots of lime on my meal but this was too perfect I didn’t need it: it also came with either a soda or juice and I got the juice.. which was a melon juice and it was light and refreshing and guess how much for all this… $13 !!!!

Please come and give it a try they are so amazing and so is the food.

Now they improve, better customer service, better and fast attendance, and change some dishes on the menu. Ecuadorian food from the coast.

We came for the first time to give it a try since parking is so difficult to find. We order 3 bolones with cafe con leche, and it took more than 45 min for them to bring them. Our coffee was already cold when they brought our food. They food was simple. Nothing extraordinary that made me change my mind about how long they took for the food. Mi Tierra is better. The tip was already included and they were not attentive. Not recommended.

I’ve now tried to give this place a chance three times because it’s local and I like Ecuadorian cuisine but each time I’ve left very disappointed. This last visit confirmed I won’t be going back and supporting this business. Food tasted good which is why I had returned but the service (really) sucks. Topped off my night with a stomach ache at home from the ceviche. Good luck with that✌️
