me and my girlfriend are spending a few days in houston for a concert. we’re from waco and we both love mexican food. this place was exceptional. we ordered, i didn’t know what i wanted and i asked the guy taking our order what he recommended and he said the beef fajita. the tacos were pretty cheap, four tacos and two drinks were less than $20. after we ordered we sat down for like one or two minutes and then BAM our food was ready. we got the tacos and they were SOOOOOOOOOO yummy. they were classic street tacos and they had the perfect amount of proportions on a taco. perfect spice, meat, onions and cilantro. i got two tacos and it filled me up pretty good. overall i really enjoyed my experience eating here and people there were nice. the only bad thing is that we didn’t see the salsa bar and we missed out on all the salsa but it’s okay. very good restaurant.

I swung by for a late lunch. The service was prompt and the tacos were substantial. The salsa bar was appreciated, not that the tacos needed much. I ordered barbocoa, lengua, fajita, pastor and chicharron.
Pastor was my favorite and I’d definitely go again.

I discovered La Palma in the early 90’s and absolutely loved the place. I have tried tacos all over Texas and I found none that could come close. I was a regular customer after that for decades but in the past year after retirement I have been traveling alot and I haven’t been there in a while. So today I decided to go and get my favorite tacos that I have been missing. Wow what a let down. The environment was the same with the same friendly staff but the tacos were very disappointing. I ordered my regular fajita tacos that I have ordered literally thousands of times over the decades and when I got home I discovered that after paying 11 dollars for 3 tacos there was about the same amount of meat as I used to get on one, there was no cilantro and onions and no grease, hence no flavor. I guess all good things must pass, so sad I loved the old La Palma. Rest In Peace

The salsas where authentic so that was great. The chicharron was a very different taste than what I had eaten before so it wasn’t to my liking. We ordered Barbacoa, Al Pastor, and Chicharron tacos. The barbacoa was good, the Al pastor was decent, didn’t like the chicharron. My biggest complaint was that ALL the tacos were cold.
My absolute favorite part was the salsa bar, the salsas, and the grilled onions.
I will definitely return to give it a second try.
The place was clean and well kept.

You have not been in Conroe’s Culinary Scene until you have been in Taqueria La Palma. From its shady beginnings as a hide-out of nite crawlers and outlaws to a family-friendly taqueria with one of the best tacos de lengua in all of Houston Metro. Yes, is still painted dark green… like back in the early 90s and YES taste is still the great same, portions are still generous and staff is… well… they’re busy and Jorge does not pay them well

I used to come here all the time and the tacos were fire. They used to cost $1.75 and went up 25 cents gradually and now they’re $3.50. That’s crazy and yall losing customers bc of those prices. I understand everything cost more now but not that much more. I get tacos in spring for $1-$2 that are better tbh

I’m from Mexico, I live in Mexico, I eat tacos very often and this is one of my favorites ever, that’s a brain breaker.
Gracias La Palma por existir

I grew up eating la Palma. It’s been my favorite place to get tacos for my entire life. However, things have changed over the past year or so. The food doesn’t hit the same as it used to. Not sure what happened. The vibe is just off now. I miss the old la Palma

Food is really good. Very small menu but the food is really good. The salsas aren’t the best but have plenty to choose from. The service is not that good. The person taking our order did not pay much attention to what we were asking for and honestly looked half asleep.
