We specialize in Mexico City style tacos and quesadillas and regional home cooking. Our menu includes such dishes as Tacos al Pastor, Mole Negro Oaxaqueno, Salsa Pibil and many other specialties from different regions of Mexico. Our award winning Margaritas are all made with fresh juices and are delicious, especially when you add house made hibiscus aqua fresca and a chile-piquin salted rim! La Palapa is available for catering on or off premise. We specialize in creating menus for private parties and events our greenhouse dining room is perfect for parties and larger groups.

The experience here has been like no other. We were grateful to be let in without a reservation as a party of 5. We were sat quickly, and the drinks came even quicker. We got happy hour frozen margs. Our favorites were hibiscus, passionfruit, and watermelon. The vibe inside was so authentic. The decorations were gorgeous; there is so much to look at and so many potential photos to take.
The meals were delicious and well portioned. So flavorful.
La Palapa is definitely a hidden gem. I will be returning to experience more of the menu and this amazing restaurant in total.

I found this restaurant near St Marks Church where we found a Dia de Los Muertos event ..4 of us are visiting from Los Angeles and we were so surprised to have found a restaurant that the atmosphere was as if we were in a restaurant in our hometown of Mexico. The spices and taste to our food was delicious and on the spot . We did not had to ask for extra salt or pepper to add. The salsas were on the spot delicious and spicy . I had a michelada and it was really good . Overall staff and managers were sweet and friendly. Portions are perfect…. Over all 10/10

Simply one of the best Mexican Restaurants in Manhattan. Incredibly cozy and lowkey with a rich authentic atmosphere that feels homey and close to its roots.
Ordered Al pastor Tacos, Guacamole w/ Chips and a Lime Agua Fresca. Tacos were incredibly juicy and flavorful. It came with pico de gallo, lime wedges and a sauce that enhanced its flavor. Its got enough pineapple to give it that sweet dose of flavor. Always integral to a good al pastor. The Guacamole was well seasoned and delicious.
Only complaint was the Lime Agua Fresca. I thought it was be similar to a limeade, but it just felt like it was water with lime juice squeezed in. Please just keep that in mind before ordering as this can be confusing. Perhaps this was always the intention and assumed wrong. I’ve had their Hibiscus agua fresca in the past and it’s delicious for sure.
Prices were reasonable, service was spot on and was seated immediately despite coming in an hour before closing.

Solid bottomless brunch. The pricing was super clear and I liked the bottomless margaritas option the entrees huevos rancheros, avocado toast, and something call tulum eggs were good. It ha d a laid back vibe. I’d like them to fix the nail in the ambathroom faucet so the faucet will work.

I went here for my birthday this past weekend. The food was delectable, out of this world. I came for the margaritas, which were refreshing and fresh. The perfect balance of flavors. The pico and Guac as an app with chips was a perfect start. I got the taco trio which was great to get to try a few different things on the menu. It was amazing! My friends got the quesadillas and green chicken enchiladas and they loved them. Our plates were clean and cups were empty. I can’t wait to go back. The price was great as well for the amount we ordered. Thank you La Palapa for the highlight of my night!
