La Osita PDX

We ordered the steak and eggs breakfast burrito and the chorizo burrito, and honestly some of the best burritos I’ve ever had. I fully intended to take a photo first, but that plan didn’t survive more than a few bites. Zero regrets.

The staff were great, and friendly and welcoming. It was a little cold inside the restaurant, but nothing that took away from the experience. The sauces tasted excellent, though I personally would’ve loved a bit more heat. Still, overall, absolutely fantastic food.

Highly recommend stopping by and trying them out.

First time visiting their new-ish brick and mortar location, in a much beloved neighborhood storefront, and I am so happy that I won’t be needing to eat those brunch tacos in my car any longer
The ambient is comfortable and bright, with a great music playlist choice. The space is small but not cramped and can, surprisingly, fit at least a couple of large groups.
The star of the show is, of course the filling and delectable breakfast/brunch menu. Superb tacos and burritos, and the coffee drinks are well crafted too. Don’t sleep on their smoothies, as a healthier option.
I’ll be back often!

La Osita has the best breakfast burritos and brunch tacos in Portland. Their lunch offerings are also incredible. They had a food truck for years and recently moved into a perfect new space in the Montavilla neighborhood. Espresso drinks available. The owners and staff are so kind. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity you get! 10/10

I love trying breakfast burritos and La Osita was often recommended. The overall space was great, nestled in a local neighborhood, I almost missed it, but it made me enjoy the friendly neighbor vibe I got from everyone there. You were treated like you went into someone’s house and they served you breakfast.

I got the standard Osita burrito and the Latte de Canella. The latte was fantastic, a Mexican spiced latte with cinnamon syrup that felt like a real treat and not just a slightly flavored milk latte. Hands down one of the best lattes I’ve had this year. The Osita burrito was great, I loved the toasted tortilla that added another level to it. The egg and chorizo mixture did not feel heavy and the pico was a nice finish. I’d say the overall flavor leaned more towards a burrito than breakfast but there is nothing wrong with that. Overall like I said, La Osita feels like you are being treated like family with home made burritos and it’s hard to beat that.

Delicious breakfast tacos and coffee in what will be an adorable store front. I’m happy to have another local family owned business to support! I highly recommend stopping in, saying hello, and having a delicious meal.

Dang, I was hoping to give them a solid 5.0, but the atmosphere isn’t 5 stars. It’s a single black food cart in a nondescript parking lot off of Mill and 122nd. Easy to miss, but worth turning around if you accidentally go past it. There is one picnic table tucked under a pine tree, so I wouldn’t consider eating there necessarily a good option, but the library (benches and tables outside) and a few park nearby parks if you want to eat alfresco. We had the Osito Burrito and the Steak Burrito, both with flavorful fresh ingredients. I didn’t want dairy, but they offered avocado instead which I appreciated. We had the French press coffee, which was excellent (some grounds slipped in, but it wasn’t a deal breaker for us). It’s not instant food, it was a but of a wait, but worth it. They’re were very nice, helpful, and the prices are reasonable. We will definitely be back and from what we heard from the other people in line was that everything on the menu is equally delicious, that you can’t go wrong.

Really stellar food. I cannot speak highly enough about the food, excellent neighborhood location, and menu. Their vegan options are so good. Their prices are reasonable. I’m really happy to see this place flourishing.

A couple of caveats to this review:
-Long wait times for food when it’s busy! We got our coffee right away (hot and tasty), but I waited 45min for 2 tacos during a peak Saturday brunch. I went for a late lunch, no line and still waited 30min for a burrito.

-No heat! It was so cold inside the restaurant I could see my breath. Dress warmly if you visit during the winter.

Took 40+ minutes to get a breakfast burrito and two tacos. There were maybe 10-15 other customers in there at the time. We ordered a tea about 15 minutes before we left, but we never received it. When we checked in about it on the way out the door, and offered to take it to go, they seemed confused and told us our tea was in the queue. We would have been happy to take a cup of hot water with a tea bag in it to go, but I guess that wasn’t an option.

This is an unassuming, elevated hole in the wall with incredible atmosphere and some damn good food. There are plenty of options for those with different dietary guidelines, the coffee (Proyecta Diaz beans) was absolutely incredible. The steak and eggs burrito had excellent textures but was lacking a little in flavor, which is made up for by great salsas and hot sauces. The brunch tacos were real tasty. Check it out!
