We ordered a banana pudding scoop in a cone and a scoop of the Cookie Monster in a cup. The line here moves pretty quickly which is good so we didn’t have to wait long from the moment we entered to the moment we began eating outside. The ice cream was delicious. The banana pudding tastes just as advertised with chunks of Nilla wafer throughout the bites, incredibly spot on. The Cookie Monster also tasted great, essentially a cookies and cream scoop dyed blue, but why not have a bit of fun with it? The whole experience was great and if ice cream isn’t your thing they have numerous other options like shakes and ice pops to get you by. The only ding we can think of is that the trash outside was overrunning and looked like it hadn’t been changed in hours. Nevertheless, we’re very glad we stopped by here to get a sweet treat and would highly recommend it to anyone in the far South Austin/Kyle area looking to cool off on a summer night.
The ice cream is very creamy and dense, so it doesn’t take much to satisfy your palette. Cookie Monster ice cream is very good along with their coffee flavors. Highly recommend.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about La Ola, so I decided to finally make a stop. They did not disappoint.
Yums! Yums! Yums!
Seriously good! They have fruit cups packed with sweet, spicy goodness! Quite a few flavors of ice cream. And I personally love all the flavors of paletas (popsicles – either with water or milk) – watermelon, coconut, strawberry/banana, pecan, lime, oreo, mango, and SO MANY MORE!!! I’ve only been there twice now (in the past 5 days), and it’s ALL GOOD!
Staff is friendly, and very helpful. There are a few tales in there and even a couple out front. They’re pretty busy regardless of the hour, but they work fast to take care of you. Prices are reasonable. Parking could be better, but its only because it’s the hidden gem of downtown Kyle! Stop by and give them a try. I’m sure you’ll love them too!
Great location that’s surrounded by three different eateries (chicken, Mexican & pizza).
There isn’t seating inside, but there’s a fun spot out front for the kids to run around and play.
Great ending to an evening or when you get the craving for some good ice cream.
