This place is a hidden gem for Mexican food! The food was absolutely amazing. I won’t go into too much detail because I want readers to discover the magic for themselves!
Having tried many Mexican restaurants in Pittsburgh and across other states, I can say this place truly exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is clean, neat, and cozy, with seating available on both the first and second floors. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Mexican cuisine or trying it for the first time, I highly recommend this spot. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

This was our first visit to La Oaxaqueña and it dis not disappoint! The restaurant was clean, well decorated. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. I highly recommend the Sopas! Everything tasted fresh and homemade. Be prepared for big portions though! The only negative was that is was pretty chilly inside so we wore our coats.

Bottom line: Definitely recommend!

I stopped by because the place is new and… this place is awesome!!! Friendly workers. I got a tlayuda, it is like a giant taco ( I think 3 people can share this dish but the tortilla is crunchy ) I also ordered for tacos: pastor, pollo, chorizo and steak with an agua de piña!!! Everything fresh and they play salsa on the radio so next time I’ll come with my girl to dance!!

It’s a cozy place but we had little trouble getting a table on a Saturday night. They justifiably proud of their tamales! I had Tlayuda Oaxaqueña which was more than enough for me, and not too far off program for a diabetic. My wife and two sons had tres leches cake for dessert and we’re very pleased.

It took a while to get our initial menus, but after that, Holly was super attentive. We never had to wait long for any need. She visited with us as well–very friendly.

The appetizers were small, but actually very appropriate for the enormous portions of our main dishes. The salsa is smokey, and the guacamole is made from the larger smooth avocados–a real flavor treat.

We’re adding this to our usual rotation of restaurants.

Food was amazing! Most authentic Mexican food I have had in some time. Our server was not the best but we saw another girl that was doing amazing, we got unlucky with the server but food and the other server were amazing! We live near by & want to go often!

My friend got takeout from here, for himself and me. It was fantastic. All of it. They were helpful in recommending things to my friend, and we loved it all. The mole was excellent. The el pastor (pork) tacos and beef tongue tacos were delicious. The shells are homemade. Then we shared something that was like a “Mexican pizza” and it was literally one of the most delicious things I ever ate. The rice too, it was the best Mexican rice I have ever had, and I’ve eaten Mexican food all over the US. Just an FYI, be very careful with the red sauce they give you, it is extremely spicy, like Thai or Korean standards. It is very hard to find Mexican food this good in Pittsburgh. I will definitely be back.

Food is made fresh. And you can get one Taco. Which makes it nice so can mix and match different tacos. Their tamales are delicious. The bathroom was so clean it sparked. There is no alcohol there so if you’re looking to stop to have a couple drinks and food that’s not the place this is just an Eatery.

The BEST Mexican food I’ve ever had in Pennsylvania. Everything was hot, fresh, and homemade. Service was slow, but very friendly. Please be patient, they make everything from scratch and it’s definitely worth the wait, trust me. We came for lunch, which was a mistake on our part since they slow cook a lot of their meats and some aren’t ready by lunchtime. However I guarantee that anything and everything here will be good; definitely coming back!
