Not your typical Mexican restaurant, I love the unique menu and the variety! Authentic experience indeed. Soup was comforting and the tlayuda was a great sample of meats! I can tell the tortilla is fresh and made in house. Will be back to try more things!

Incredible! I ordered the cheese & chicken and revuelta pupusas, they were hot and fresh. The fried yuca was crispy and hot on the outside and soft on the inside. Everyone was super friendly and our food came quickly!

Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing, but I had a beef torta with fries. It was very average. The table top sauce bottle helped. If I go again, I’ll order the mole. Service was good. Not busy. Based on the many very favorable reviews, I was disappointed. Maybe just not their best day.

If you are a mole lover, be prepared to fall in love with La Oaxaqueña.
I have family from Oaxaca and go years without seeing them, but having an order of enmoladas brings me so much homey comfort.
La Oaxaqueña is vibrant, consistent, and authentic; nothing but true to the Oaxaqueño culture.
I’ve had the mole, pupusas, and the tlayuda and enjoyed each of them.
I do ask for the enmoladas to be filled with beans instead of chicken for a vegetarian option. They also used chicken that had bone in the first few times I ordered them, and was a bit put off; the bean substitution keeps me satisfied without the bone digging.
My only real complaint with La Oaxaqueña is the restroom – it is clearly an afterthought. If I’m washing my hands before a meal, I’d like to believe the bathroom is as clean as the rest of the establishment; right now, it’s not something I’d want to be eating out of.

Beautiful little restaurant with awesome art decoration. Ordered pupusas revueltas and a chicken tamal….unfortunately, the tamal lacked flavor, but the chicken was very moist.
The pupusas were ok, too much bean taste for me as it was a revuelta. However, they were excellent sized and the correct porportion “fluff” for a pupusa.
The passion fruit drink was phenomenal! Super refreshing and full of flavor.
Most importantly, the lady (owner) was such a great and humble person. A true, hard-working, and dedicated small business owner whose business I will definitely keep supporting.

The most delicious food and the staff are so kind and welcoming! I’ve been meaning to stop by since I drove by and saw the sign out front and finally did and couldn’t be happier. I’ve never found such an authentic Oaxacan restaurant outside of Mexico. This place is definitely worth a visit. I will absolutely be coming back

Best tlayudas in SLC area. Love the originally ingredients and way to make it taste like you are in Juchitán enjoying a tlayuda.

Over 17 dollars for one pupusa and the worlds saddest torta that I waited over 30 minutes for and soggy French fries that they forgot about. The pupusas were okay but also forgotten about so they served it to us with our check in a to go container. There’s better pupusas and salvadorian food in salt lake I would not go back
