My only minor complaint is with service on takeout orders. On multiple occasions I’ll order and they tell me 15ish minutes. I’ll get there after 15 minutes and still am waiting for over 10 minutes. I understand they’re a busy business but I’d rather them just be honest and realistic with the wait time.
It’s definitely a little on the pricey side, but it’s expected and worth it for food that really is a higher quality. Avoid the 3% card fee by paying cash.
I 100% recommend La Nova, even if you don’t live nearby come and try it!
I found the prices at La Nova Ne to be completely reasonable for the quality of food they offer. Trust me, it’s worth every penny.
If you happen to be in Northeast Philadelphia, I highly recommend stopping by La Nova Ne. If you’re not from the area, make sure to add this spot to your must-try list for your next visit. You won’t regret it!
I placed my order way ahead of time to be picked up at 4:30 and it was ready AT 4:30. Hot and fresh! I had heard about La Nova on Instagram and saw that they’re a Halal pizzeria, so, naturally, I had to give them a try. I ordered a Large Margarita, Large Pepperoni, 3 cheesesteaks with fried onions and mayo, and an order of 20 wings (mild & honey bbq).
The pizza was super thin, crispy, and had that fresh baked bread essence that we all love. (I recommend dipping the crust in some olive oil- thank me later!) The cooper sharp cheese gave the pizza this creamy texture that you don’t really taste from many other pizzerias. The sauce was full of flavor, not too sweet and didn’t have that bland tomato-y flavor.
The wings, I will say could’ve used another minute or so in the oil, but they were jumbo so they were packed with tender meat. Preferentially, I don’t like that extra chicken skin on wings but that’s just me. I’m not hatin’. Others may enjoy that. And they were not too saucy and not too dry- perfect!
Now, the cheesesteak. Man. I would put this up there with Angelo’s. Yeah, I said it! Packed with tender ribeye that could fill you up with one bite and don’t let me forget the cooper sharp and toasted sesame roll. I felt like I was in heaven biting into that.
Overall, I’d give La Nova Pizza & Steak NE a 9.8/10
Well deserved, very busy place, I highly recommend you try them out. If you haven’t, your loss!
Wait time was atrocious – I was provided a 20-30 min estimated time of waiting. It took approximately 1.5 hours of waiting in total before I got my food. This is understandable, considering the business was recently popularized on social media and it’s apparent they are still adjusting to the influx of new customers. I would rather them be more honest about such a long wait time.
The cooks and the employees are hard-working. Just enough customer service to get you what you need and all employees maintained professionalism. Good hip-hop playlist in the store as well.
Generally, I rank my food 1-10: 1 being the worst thing I’ve ever eaten, 5 being average, and 10 being the best food I’ve ever eaten.
I ordered a plain, small pizza and a cheese steak. The Pizza was one of the best Pizzas I’ve had – almost identical to Angelo’s Pizza, however, La Nova has more sauce and slightly softer crust.
I ranked the Pizza a 9.1/10.
The Cheesteak was filled with flavor. The cheese was great and the bread was both soft and toasted in the right spots. Well-seasoned steak, cooked properly and the meat portions were plentiful.
I gave this cheese steak an 8.1/10.
La Nova is hands down one of the better pizza / cheese steak restaurants in the Philadelphia area. If you’re willing to wait, you’ll enjoy your meal.
Ordered a pizza and a cheesesteak. Everything BURNT, inedible. And had to go all the way back to the store for a refund. They were only going to offer a store credit unless I returned everything.
Very, very dissappointing. No interest of ever returning. Manager avoided me, didnt want to talk. This made matters worse as far as customer care.
