I visited La Norma in Longboat Key (near Bradenton, FL) and it was outstanding. The food was excellent, superb flavors and top-notch ingredient quality throughout.
My daughter’s pasta was next level (she loved it). And the appetizers, meatballs, bruschetta, and eggplant rollatini, were from another world: unbelievably fresh and packed with flavor.
You can tell the place was recently renovated; it feels elevated but still welcoming. Service was polished, honestly Michelin-level vibes, and the live music on the patio made the whole experience even better.
I’d absolutely drive back just to eat here again.

YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE!! HIDDEN GEM IN LONGBOAT KEY!! Ill start by saying that you can skip Armands circle and just come to La Norma. As a person that is extremely picky and loves great food and fine dining this place just knocks it out of the park. Its hard to find a great Italian place and this hidden gem is definitely my new gem at Longboard Key. I was looking for a restaurant that would make me want to keep coming back and this is the one. Authentic home made pasta with a beautiful flavor profile. Small and cozy and the staff is super kind and friendly. I personally had the lasagna and the family had pepperoni pizza, and the veal. The meals were done perfectly especially if you’re used to authentic Italian cuisine. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Very pleased and cant wait to come back on vacation to the area just to eat here.

Spectacular hidden gem! Everything was absolutely delicious, from the bread that is homemade to the pasta that is also homemade. The service was amazing as well ,our waitress was so sweet and made great recommendations! We got a pepperoni pizza , the dough was thin, the sauce was nice and fresh! The veal parm was super yummy , crispy and the linguine was delicious (you can tell it’s homemade) the marinara is phenomenal. The lasagna was also very delicious, perfectly balanced. The tiramisu was to die for!! So creamy and simply melts in your mouth . The papardelle with the mushroom sauce was also very good, a must try!

We visit Longboat Key annually, and since LaNorma opened in 2019, it’s been a must-visit every trip. This year, we were lucky to stay for two weeks — and dined at LaNorma three times, including their incredible Wine Tasting experience on May 9.
Our first meal was with my wife and mother: Salmon Piccata, Rigatoni with Meatballs, Arancini, and a Mediterraneo Salad — every dish was outstanding. Gustavo’s service made the evening even better.
The second visit was a family dinner with seven of us. The Veal Saltimbocca stole the show — truly unforgettable. Everyone loved their meals, and Tatiana provided flawless service. It was a perfect night.
The following day, my wife and I attended the Wine Tasting event. We’ve done wine experiences in Italy, including Tuscany, and this easily matched some of the best. Sommelier Riccardo brought the wines of Piedmont (Nebbiolo, Barbera, Barbaresco, and Barolo) to life with rich stories and expert insight. The four-course lunch (plus dessert) was paired beautifully with the wines, and they thoughtfully accommodated my wife’s gluten-free needs. Yulia’s attentive service and the warm presence of Daniela and Giuseppe made the experience truly memorable.
Final thoughts? LaNorma has always been a favorite, but this trip confirmed it’s better than ever. The food is sublime — if I had to choose a last meal, it’d be the Veal Saltimbocca. The wine list has improved, and the welcoming atmosphere makes every visit feel like coming home. Congratulations to the entire LaNorma team for creating something truly exceptional on beautiful Longboat Key. We can’t wait to return.

Nice Italian restaurant, limited tables so make a reservation for dinner. We had pasta dish, salmon piccatta and lasagna – all dishes were very good. Decent wine selection too. Attentive service. A nice evening for our whole group.

This is a smaller, Italian fare restaurant, with red checkered tablecloths, Frank Sinatra Music, etc the works. We have been visiting Long Boat Key/Sarasota for a decade now, and have eaten at many different restaurants. Only a select few have made our “must go list” because there’s always somewhere new to try. La Norma is an absolute must, and easily sits at the top of the list.
We have tried the Basil Pesto Gnochi, a Margherita Pizza, the Vodka Ravioli, House Salad, Canoli, Meatball Appetizer, Lemon Sorbet , and Salted Caramel Gelato. I honestly could have died happy after this meal. What an absolute pleasure to see such care and love put into each dish. There’s is nothing more I can say that will do the food and experience justice, except that if you have the opportunity to visit, DO SO, you will thank yourself.

We had an incredible experience at this restaurant last night! Incredible food, our server Juan was so nice and made the evening very special. We had the burrata appetizer, the lamb ravioli and a pizza. Wine was excellent as well as everything else. Juan made us great recommendations. Highly recommend!!

Today I had a pleasure to have a dinner in this stunning restaurant. I immpressed how beautiful atmosphere was there and food was unreal delicious. I’ve had a couple special positions and I have no words to describe these amazing dishes. Salad was tasty and ravioli with ricotta and pumpkin cream literally stole my heart. Highly recommend this restaurant to visit. Server Paula was very nice and pleased. My complements to the shef!
