We came to La Nonna on a day when my wife wasn’t feeling very well and was craving pasta. We shared mussels and linguine with clams, which was incredibly comforting. After that, we even had a tiramisu, and it completely lifted her spirits.

It’s a BYOB, but I didn’t dare suggest bringing wine that day. Next time, we’d love to bring a bottle and enjoy the food even more.

The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. A perfect place to enjoy delicious Italian food and relax with your loved ones.

Here in Philadelphia on business and staying around the corner. The VRBO owner recommended La Nonna and it was INCREDIBLE!! It is restaurant week so my friend and I shared our appetizers (Arancini with a spicy marinara and cesar salad) and pasta dishes (spaghetti Cacio e pepe thst was absolutely silky and the softest gnocchia woth blush sauce – heavenly!!) We both ordered the branzino (swimming in a lovely garlic oil) for main course. Service was wonderful – not rushed. I also love supporting a family business! Highly recommend!

I’ve been to La Nonna multiple times over the past year with both small and large groups (14 people). You are greeted at the door with the most lovely and friendly staff. From the bread and pickled veggies to the delicious pasta and meat dishes, there is truly nothing bad at La Nonna. If you want a good atmosphere, kind staff, and authentic, scrumptious Italian food, La Nonna is the spot for you!!

A Delightful Dining Experience

La Nonna Ristorante BYOB, located at 214 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147, is a family-owned gem where fresh pasta is made daily.

The light and pillowy gnocchi come in a variety of imaginative sauces. We tried the Garlic Alfredo Gnocchi, which was very filling and tasted terrific. The veal parmigiana was a standout, with a crisp, flavorful crust and a light homemade sauce. The Pompano special was another highlight, perfectly cooked with gnocchi and vegetables in a delicate white wine and garlic sauce. For appetizers, we enjoyed the crispy but not oily calamari, grilled octopus with capers and garlic for a salty-lemony taste, and Burrata with soft cheese, grilled peppers, and tomato.

Our meal ended on a high note with their light and flavorful tiramisu, lemon cake, and ricotta pistachio cake, the perfect finale to a satisfying dining experience.

Stepping into La Nonna Ristorante BYOB, you’re not just a guest, you’re part of the family. The owner, a beautiful young woman, has inherited her father’s legacy of hospitality and a keen eye for quality. Her dedication to ensuring every guest feels welcomed and valued is evident in every aspect of the dining experience.

The food is amazing and the portions are really generous for the price! It’s got a cozy and homey feel that can be hard to find in the city. The staff is incredibly friendly and you can’t beat a BYOB! Definitely a gem and I’ll be returning whenever I’m in the neighborhood!

Delicious | Fresh Ingredients | BYOB

La Nonna is now one of favourite Italian restaurants I’ve been to! All ingredients/dishes were so fresh, delicious and high quality. Service was attentive without being annoying and very nice. The restaurant itself is super cute inside.

For apps we enjoyed the Bruschetta & Burrata. Both were great, in particular the Burrata was so delicious – probably the best we’ve ever had.

For mains, we had the lasagne and meatball. I’d highly recommend the lasagne, meat balls were still good but definitely not as tasty. We had an espresso to finish which was yum. It’s very reasonable priced once you add the BYOB factor. Overall, a fantastic evening!

I think everything was great in my own experience. The pasta and food came out fairly quick. The pasta was cooked to perfection, not too chewy or soft. The bills for 5 people was around 160 including tips which is not bad at all. We got the mussels appetizer, it has a clean taste, pretty light appetizer to get started with. I also got the special gnocchi of the restaurant, and all of my other friends got the carbonara and spaghetti meatballs, eggolant parm. They said it was good, I think my gnocchi and carbornara was the best one out of all the dish. The atmosphere and the decorations in here is very chill and cozy. Would be a cute date for the couples.
