We came to Turlock with empty stomach and gladly stumbled upon this place. Very delicious food with great service and atmosphere. The salsa was so good though chips were stale, but honestly the bomb food made up it. Highly recommend

Call me nostalgic but I like this location more than its Ceres counterpart. Growing up in Turlock and all it has always been a great spot to go solo, and now with my wife and friends. Service is friendly and attentive, food comes out fast and flavorful. Can’t really ask for more here.

La Morentina Restaurant features amazing authentic mexican food. The staff is very friendly. I love their selection of seafood. I had the ceviche and it was absolutely wonderful. I paired it with a Michelada and I was in heaven. They have a large menu with many great selections. I went with a large group of people and everyone was very satisfied with their meal. I highly recommend this place for some excellent mexican food!

I grew up in Merced/Turlock areas and have been coming to this location since I was a child. This restaurant is still a family favorite, and we love coming here. Food is delicious. One of the better Mexican restaurants in the area, in my opinion. Too bad it isn’t closer to my home, but also, probably a good thing! Always recommend this place!

I usually love La Morenitas. Recently they have changed their chips and they aren’t good. They’re so hard, it feels like you’ll break a tooth and they’re super grainy. They also taste horrible. The ones they used to have were so much better. Their breaded Milanesa plates and their grilled chicken plates have also been awful. The meat has been very thick and chewy to the point it’s not edible. Not sure if they have a new cook or what’s going on but it’s really made us not want to spend our time or money there for food that’s not as good. I understand cutting costs but when something works and you raise the prices… you don’t change what’s good!

This place never disappoints (except when it’s closed). The family is so sweet! The Pollo en crema always hits. I drive hours to eat it! Other places have Pollo en crema that is similar, but no place has the perfect Pollo AND white, garlicky rice AND to-die-for refried beans!

My first time here but this place has been here forever! Some of the best Mexican food in the valley!! Nice atmosphere. Very friendly and helpfull staff. The waitress never let my drink run dry, as I pounded down a boiling hot Molcejete! Beef, chicken, and shrimp, with a wonderful citrusy sauce with a nice kick! Perfect placenfor a date or night out!!

One of My 2 favorite Mexican restaurants in Turlock. The salsa is very good, and I’ve never had a bad meal there, always good for almost 30 years.

My daughters and my husband and I went here to eat recently. When we first walked in you could tell that it was almost like as if we were bothering or putting them out to service it was an hour a little over an hour before closing time but I guess they were closing at a different time that night for whatever reason we sat down and he said okay can you hurry and Order because the kitchen is closing we didn’t even look at the menus yet okay so we tried to hurry as fast as we could to order and then they forgot to ask if we wanted something to drink so we waited in the meantime the server set down to eat and we literally waited for him to continue eating and finish eating before he came back to us and then he asked us when he brought my daughter’s plates he asked if we would like something to drink we said yeah we ordered it and you could just tell that he didn’t want to be there or he was ready to go I don’t know what it was the food was horrible some of it was cold but the most important thing was besides not feeling welcome there they came over there and he handed our plates kind of in a rush fashion he did my daughter’s too went back and got mine and my husband’s he put my husband’s down but then he handed mine to me the plate and as he handed to me and I put my fingers on it to take it from him he said oh be careful it’s hot well by that time my fingers were already burning so I put the plate down and they kept bothering me and bothering me and we went home that ended up with blisters on four of my fingers and I actually have pictures of it that plate was so hot he went back to go sit down and finish eating whatever he was doing and then you just said they were just ready to the kitchen stuff was staring at us and it still wasn’t closing time either mind you it was a horrible experience and we will never ever go there again

1.Fajitas lacked authentic flavor, the beef was tender but very few pieces of meat.
