A little backstory: this past summer, we’d play a few rounds of pickleball and then walk over for agua frescas.
Since they launched their breakfast menu in early December, my fiancé and I have quickly become regulars. We stop by a couple times a week to sit down for breakfast or grab champurrado to go before heading to work.
This morning, one of the staff members thanked us for being regulars and even offered us a piece of their merch. It was such a thoughtful and genuinely kind gesture.
As for the restaurant itself, everything is made to order and absolutely delicious! The space is always spotless, and the staff is consistently warm and welcoming. You can really tell they care about their customers and what they do.
After paying, the cashier gave me my beverage and a table tent/order number. Nothing was said about how the process went. So, I watched customers who had ordered before me. When an order was ready, an automated voice said, “Please take the order.” When your number was displayed, you were to approach the take-out counter and carry everything to your table. Since there were no trays, I had to make three trips across the restaurant. I’m still not sure what the purpose of the table tent was, as they’re typically used so that the staff can deliver orders to the correct customers.
I noticed customers going to a metal table after retrieving their orders from the counter. So, I looked it over once the line died down. It contained a beautiful assortment of salsas and other condiments. There were no cups to put the salsa and such in. A customer at the counter told me that you have to ask for them at the pick-up counter, which was close by. So, I asked for one. The employee told me that I actually had to go back to the cashier to get one. I had to wait in line again just to ask.
The presentation was fantastic. Everything looked fresh and inviting. The tomatoes appeared to be quality, vine-ripened tomatoes. They tasted delicious. My platter contained three cheese enchiladas, refried beans and Mexican-style rice. The portions were quite generous. The menu said that sour cream was part of the platter but it wasn’t given to me as part of my meal. My enchiladas were cold. The cheese inside was cold and appeared to have not even been melted at all.
My companion, who ordered a few chicken gorditas, could not stop raving about how good her meal was. Seriously, she said it at least six or seven times. Everything was absolutely delicious
I may try them another time in the future, but there are so many others that have excelled in food and customer experience. We’ll have to see.
