It was a crime how slow the place was during lunch hours! Look at the pics of the food. It speaks for itself. I mean the cheese pull from that bite of pizza was absolute perfection. Garlic knots came out hot and fresh, with drips of garlic sauce on the plate to slide the knots in. Crispy outside, light and airy on the inside. I even dropped a pic of the silverware next to the pizza so you can get an idea of the pizza size. I am so delighted that we stopped here for lunch as the food and service were outstanding. I dropped the atmosphere to a 4 for nitpicky reasons. Like the fact that there was no music or sound for ambiance. Also, some of the pictures on the walls were crooked and my wife fixates on things like that. However, the food review still stands. Overall this place is a strong 4.7 out of 5 in my book. Definitely worth going back for more!

I’m a truck driver and get out and about. I’m stuck in the area while my trailer is getting repaired. I asked the guys at the repair shop for an independent Italian / pizza style place that isn’t a large chain. They recommended this place. I got here and the place looked super nice and it is worth noting super clean looking too. Great job on that aspect. I ordered the chicken parm and had meat sauce added. When the food came, I initially thought the sauce looked too dark, then I tasted it and it tasted burnt or just old like it sat in a vat all day. I really wanted to love it, but the aftertaste was really biting back. The waitress was wonderful. The guy came out of the back passing through and asked me how everything was. I told him, honestly, the spaghetti portion of it was terrible because of the sauce. Without missing a beat, he offered to make new. They brought it out and it looked way better than the first batch. It tasted better as well. I was going to give 2 stars because the service and cleanliness of the place, but opted for 3 because the guy was super friendly and so willing to fix the issue. I will say the fixed meal was not all that impressive. Perhaps their pizza or other items are way better. I will not be going out of my way to return.

Ordered delivery. The smell was TERRIBLE! I thought someone left the oven on. OUR FOOD WAS BURNED! Whoever made this and thought it was okay to send out to the customer needs to be fired! Not to mention our driver should’ve said something about the disgusting smell. Awful! It’s supposed to be crispy brown, not burned black to a crisp! Had I picked it up, I would’ve rejected it for sure!

I recommend LaMontesina Pizza & Grill to anyone. I have been very pleased with my visits and the food is great. Prices are reasonable and the owner treats you like family. He knows my orders every time I come in. Staff is friendly and very polite. If you looking for reasonable Italian food this is the place. The lemon pepper wings are the bomb and I always get a side salad with every meal

I went in on a wednesday night. Place was empty. Waiters/cashiers/greeters no one to be seen. I had to walk into the kitchen to get someone to take my order, there were 3 people in there watching something loud on their phones. I ordered a chicken parm sub. It came out after 20 mins, apparently the waiter was confused if it was supposed to come out to me or taken for delivery. The sandwich was burnt, the sauce didn’t taste good and barely any pieces of chicken. Just looking at the sandwich I don’t know who thought this was good enough to be served. Not a pleasant experience, not coming back

I went tonight 1/1/22 around 7PM. The lady working up front was absolutely lovely. But the way her manager was talking to her made me feel bad the entire meal. She couldn’t turn one way without being told to turn the next. I understand it is important to have leadership, but she literally couldn’t even take and order without being jumped onto—answer the phone, do this, do that, do this and that. I felt bad!! There is only so much one person can juggle and it shouldn’t be all up to her to get it done!

Not sure why they have 4 star reviews. I’ve been here at least a dozen times and have been satisfied every time and the people who work in there have always been great. Would recommend to anyone who wants good pizza in Sanford.
