I had such a delightful experience at La Monarca Bakery on a rainy evening in Pico Rivera with my amigas! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the friendliest, most patient service by Jonathan G., who made sure everything was perfect for us.

My friends enjoyed hot chocolates paired with freshly baked cinnamon cookies and Mexican chocolate butter cookies, while I treated myself to a horchata lavender concha and a couple of Orejitas butter palmiers. Every bite was heavenly soft, fresh, and full of flavor.

The bakery itself is spotlessly clean, inviting, and cozy, making it a perfect spot to enjoy sweet treats and warm drinks with friends. Professional, kind, and genuinely attentive service like Jonathan’s really makes La Monarca stand out.

I can’t wait to come back and try more of their delicious pastries! Highly recommend!

I bought a mocha cake for my mothers bday. The service was great and 10/10. They have birthday signs made out of fondant in different colors, I got the red one for my mom. I did ask if the cake was fresh before buying and they informed me since the shop is small, they have the cakes delivered to them from a different location each morning. So i assume cakes are freshly made every day. The cake looked beautiful and was nicely presented with a square flat base. The frosting was delicious and tasted like mocha. The cake/bread did lack flavor and was a bit dry. The mocha cake would taste marvelous if the cake/bread was moist with espresso if prepared similar to a tres leches. 3/5 stars for the cake but 5/5 stars for the service.

This Bakery left a lasting impression with its charming ambiance and delectable treats. Their menu showcased a variety of mouthwatering options, with Mexican inspiration making delicious delights.

Their staff was patient and friendly as I was asking about the pastries. Giuliana and Alison, the staff members assisting me, went through the menu, offering insightful recommendations tailored to my preferences. Their friendly demeanor and willingness to accommodate my dietary preferences enhanced the overall dining experience.

I went ahead and got a Matchata and a chocolate croissant. Their matcha had a good amount of horchata leaving a pleasant savory taste. As for the croissant, each bite revealed a great balance, it was not too sweet and not too buttery.

Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, the combination of a welcoming atmosphere, delectable creations, and attentive staff makes it a perfect choice to have your baked goods. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area!

This is nice coffee place. It’s a chain store you will find them everywhere. They have good selection of coffee and breads. Must visit.

I went today around 12ish and there were two staff members. A young man and a female… the male took the trash out and the female acknowledged me but didn’t offer service. The guy came back from throwing out the trash and I heard him tell the female “you’ve got a customer waiting”… the guy helped me out… the food was HORRIBLE… I ordered a mollete with soy chorizo and it was cold 🙁 . I got a large iced coffee and wasn’t even offered creamer. I got some baked goods to go. Monarca Supervisors/Management, please train your people. The food should be served warm… customers shouldn’t be waiting when the place is empty… I’m so dissatisfied.

I enjoy this location for its indoor/outdoor seating and parking availability. My go-to breakfast sandwich is the chipotle scramble biscuit with a big hot cup of cafe de olla. They also offer many delicious iced coffee options as well as cold brew and even slushes! (Horchata and Jamaica) For those of us trying to bring a smile to our coworkers faces by way of caffeine, La Monarca offers large boxes of their cafe de olla at a reasonable price….but if you’re thinking of buying everyone coffee make sure to take a pastry for them as well since there are many cookie, cakes, and pan dulce offerings.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a good while and today found the time before heading to work.

The place inside is nice and clean with great music playing. You get that friendly warm feeling walking inside.

The staff is friendly. I was greeted when I walked inside and customer service was on point.

I walked over to the bread section and and picked out the guayaba with cheese croissant and guayaba and cream danish. I love trying guayaba pastires and I definitely wasn’t disappointed . The danish was my favorite of the two.

For coffee i tried the Cafe Oaxaca (espresso + Mexican chocolate + steamed milk) and I loved it it had just the right amount of Mexican chocolate that I prefer in my drinks. I want to try the Cafe De Olla next when i come back. I heard a lot about that coffee from friends.

I didn’t know this when walking in but they have breakfast Tortas and thought why not try it out. I ordered the Chipotle beef machaca. It comes with a salsa which is good. It’s not a large portion of meat so if your starving you might not get full. Its just right of your feeling a bit hungry. Overall it was good, the salsa added the extra good flavor to it.

Overall it was a great experience and will be returning I came in with the idea of only getting coffee and came out with more goodies.
