I visited this restaurant with my husband and a friend, and overall we had a nice experience. The place itself is really beautiful, with thoughtful décor that truly makes you feel like you’re in a Mexican restaurant. That said, the music didn’t quite match the vibe and could definitely be improved.
We ordered two cocktails—a Cantarito and a Very Berry Margarita—and both were delicious. You can tell the bartender is well trained and knows what they’re doing. To start, we had queso along with salsa and chips, everything was fresh and tasty. You could tell the snacks were made in-house.
My friend and I ordered tacos, and while the seasoning was on point, the tortillas were a big disappointment. A handmade tortilla would make a huge difference and really elevate the dish. My husband ordered the empanadas, which unfortunately were not very good—they needed more salt and overall flavor.
I’m glad we tried this new restaurant, and I appreciate that it’s a nicer take on Mexican cuisine. With some improvements, especially to the tortillas and a bit more attention to seasoning, this place has the potential to be much better.

Pretty good! Lot of parking space since it’s in a strip mall basically near PetSmart, Homegoods, etc. Interior is very cute and staff were very attentive. Ordered the enchiladas trio and it was a fine portion–chips and salsa were free. I thought some of the other items seemed a bit pricey like 2 tacos for $14-18 so I avoided those.

My husband, 16 month old & I went here for the first time on Valentine’s Day. The food, service & atmosphere is amazing! We had Kayla as our server, she was knowledgeable & so sweet!
We have been waiting for an upscale restaurant to open like La Minerva. It reminded us of our many visits to different states in Mexico. We had the guac (with Pork Rinds), fajitas, Birria tacos & drinks (1 alcoholic & 1 N/A).
10/10 recommend!

when I tell you this is my favorite spot in the charleston area! It definitely has the best food and drinks!! I have been going for a good bit here with my friends/family and the service never disappoints me! My server vania is an absolute angel!! She has always recommended me the best drinks & meals. Vania’s service is a 100/100! The whole team makes you feel welcome as soon as you step in through the front door. I recommend everyone in town to give it a try!!❤️❤️ fyi: check out the bathrooms for a cute pic ❤️❤️

I mean wow this place is stunning . It was definitely not what I expected walking in but glad we stumbled upon it. The owners have several restaurants but this is their newest and more upscale. You could tell there was a lot of thought and intentionality in developing the concept so I really admired that.
Our server Vania came and greeted us, shared some things about the menu and made some recommendations. We informed her my husband was celiac and she was very knowledgeable about what he could and could not have which was refreshing.
We were off to a good start with a delicious margarita and we ordered a birria ramen simply because it was a unique option and also a pork plate with rice and beans. Everything was colorful and had distinct flavors, while the ramen could’ve used just a touch of salt, it was still very good and enjoyable. All the accoutrements of sauces, diced onions and jalapeños made the dishes even better.
I got to meet the owner and she was so sweet. I think this is a great spot and the menu had so many amazing options so we look forward to coming back!

I got recommended this place at work, the couple swore by it so I went in some family… had a great time we got 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts… the best part of the meal was definitely the desserts I will be going back for the flan. The entrees were good and the homemade tortillas were fire, great date night spot for some upscale Mexican food. Ask for Kayla she was a great server and helped answer my questions. Very attentive.

La Minerva it’s such a great place to enjoy authentic Mexican food. My favorite’s so far are the Birria lovers plate and the ceviche. My server Luis was an awesome server, he helped my mom picked her alcohol beverage, gave honest opinions about the drinks. She liked it. Luis also provided us options of delicious desserts. I personally went for the flan.The vibes are always on point.

Our lunch was impeccably presented & we were greeted by Kayla, a friendly, helpful, professional and cordial young lady that made our experience the best.
The grilled ribeye tacos were perfectly seasoned and delicious and the guacamole was exceptionally delicious & portioned enough for 4 guests
My horchata was “THE BEST” I’ve had since living on the border near Mexicali, many years ago. The house-made tortilla chips were exceptionally delicious even 3 days after we ate there. They use the highest quality take-home containers of any restaurant in the Charleston area & beyond.
Not only would I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant but also, would like to mention that they’ve gained a repeat customer.

This restaurant is amazing! It isn’t your ordinary Mexican restaurant, it is multicultural and I would put it against any five star restaurant in Charleston. You can have anything from upscale Mexican food to wonderful seafood and ceviche. They use only the best ingredients, like their Shiitake Mushrooms. The service is always amazing, very friendly accommodating, and very helpful in giving you suggestions. The prices are fabulous. Just an example that beautiful Cheese dish with tortillas is only $10 and those wonderful birra egg rolls were $8.00. Vania was my server and she is lovely!!!! I come at least once a month!!!!
