The atmosphere is bright and welcoming, and the staff is friendly and patient while you decide from all the options. Portions are generous and reasonably priced, making it a perfect stop for families or anyone wanting a refreshing treat.
If you’re in Monticello and want something sweet, fruity, or spicy, this place is definitely worth the visit.
We regularly get takeout from here, the pastor tacos and fried shrimp tacos with beans and rice on the side are our favorite classics. We also like the birria tacos and shrimp ceviche.
They make their ice cream in house and have the best flavors. I highly recommend getting the ice cream with fresh fruit on one of their house made funnel cakes.
They have a large cold sweet section. Delicious hard iced cream, chocolate bananas and dairy free options, they pack a big selection into a convenient and friendly atmosphere.
I highly recommend stopping in and trying something out of your comfort zone.
A great sign of a restaurant is when you don’t need a take home box because everything was gone!
It’s tucked away in a strip mall but this is the best Mexican food in Monti.
**Tacos:**
When you order at the counter, you wait for your food to be ready. However, the process can be a bit chaotic since they don’t give you a number or ask for your name. Instead, they just call out the order, which can be confusing if there are multiple customers.
The salsa containers are quite small and unremarkable. The chips, on the other hand, are nicely cooked, crispy, and taste fresh, although they have very little salt. The guacamole is fresh and flavorful, not spicy, and probably the best part of the whole order.
The quesabirria tacos are larger compared to those at other local restaurants, and the consommé is flavorful. The street tacos are decent, but they lack onion and cilantro, which might have been an oversight. The beef in the street tacos is a bit dry.
**Ice Cream:**
The ice cream is hand-scooped and hard. They also have a wide variety of house-made popsicles in different flavors.
We tried the salted caramel and Butterfinger ice creams. Both were fine but not particularly special. They also offer a couple of varieties of chocolate-covered bananas.
