We’re La Michoacana Ice Cream Bar and we’ve been an ice cream shop here in DeKalb, IL since 2014. Family owned, we serve up ice cream, churros, elotes, banana splits, waffle cones, nachos, chips, and much more. We’re looking forward to continuing to serve our area. Experienced some racism/poor customer service. I walked in and waited for my turn to be serviced and was not acknowledged. However someone of their ethnic background came in after me and was immediately attended to answering his questions and servicing him before me. Won’t be coming back.

Love that they are open late. I always get their mangonadas & they’re so good! Huge variety of ice cream flavors & popsicles along with food too! This has the most food selections out of any La Michoacana that I’ve been to. The parking lot is the only rough part about this place.

Lots variety of ice creams that includes many mexican flavors or types i don’t know. What i like is that they have flavors which i don’t discover normally in other shops. Love the variety of popsicles. The employees working in the ice cream parlour are quite chilled and it’s not much pricey.

Delicious! Their homemade ice cream is creamy and smooth, unique and satisfying. From traditional flavors like vanilla and butter pecan to fun flavors like hochata and blueberry + cheese, La Michoacana has something for everyone. Highly recommended!

Only had a coffee milkshake, big size. It was one of the best milkshakes I’ve EVER had, rich, creamy and smooth, perfect consistency. Not cheap at $10, but it was huge and really worth it. Only negative: their menu was off line (they use a video screen), no way of seeing how much ice cream products cost. But I’ll be back next time I’m in town. Friendly service, too.

My favorite spot to get my occasional fix of mangonada!! A mangonada is a frozen mango treat that has an infusion of bold flavors that consist of sweet, tangy, and spicy. Absolutely delicious! There’s nothing better to enjoy on warm days like a mangonada. The sweetness of the mango, the spicy kick you get from the chamoy and a little tart from the lime juice, makes for a fun and tasty treat. If you haven’t tried it before, you won’t be disappointed.
