Came for the first time with a dear friend & we were greeted instantly with warm smiles. The shop is very cute, clean, and well decorated. I was a little shy because I didn’t know what to order or how to speak Spanish (LOL), but the lady working the counter was very patient with me as I kept looking back and forth. She even offered us a matcha horchata sample & it was delicious, I would definitely come back just for that! Next time I’m in the area, I am going to try and order some food from here!

This is literally the hidden gem mexican spot of the entire DSM metro. Im currently sitting here on a Sunday eating their 3 tacos for 5 dollars weekend deal with 5 of our children and wondering how there isn’t a line out the door. As a transplant from California this is quite literally the best tacos I have had since moving here in 2020 and we are gonna make this our Sunday afternoon weekly. Its a bonus that they have 100 different hand made ice creams and treats to choose from. Run here and eat. You won’t be disappointed.

We came here while in the neighborhood for a class/seminar and were very surprised! The food is solid with classic Mexican options. Tacos are ‘food-truck’ or ‘street’ style and have fresh toppings and salsas. There are daily specials. The horchata is good, and there is a HUGE selection of paletas (ice cream bars) which we didn’t have, but I will be back sometime to try. The atmosphere is pleasant, too, a lot brighter/lighter than many Mexican restaurants.

The food here is incredible. I’m obsessed with steak tortas. The fries are crazy good, and then carne asada fries are even more amazing. The staff is super nice and everyone I’ve talked to speaks great English. When I called to place an order they answered in Spanish but switched right away when I said I’d like to make an order for pickup, so don’t feel intimidated to call them or talk to them if you don’t speak Spanish! 🙂

I love this michoacana location, it’s def my fav in Des Moines. The staff are super friendly and attentive, their food options are great, and they keep the space super clean! I even noticed a worker advise some guests to not sit at a certain table because she had not cleaned it yet. To me, that shows how much they care!!
My gf and I were offered a matcha horchata sample and it was FIRE!!! I had a paleta de cajeta, and my friend had una de fresa. Both were super yummy and a perfect treat 🙂

I just had possibly the best sandwich of my life.
Really clean restaurant, super friendly staff, unique menu with lots food, dessert and drink options. It has the feel of a neighborhood hang-out for ice cream or a meal, but worth driving to as well. Definitely recommend
