Found this little gem while goggling for restaurants near the lock fence. They were reasonably priced and the food was authentic. The gorditas were super juicy and the street tacos #18 we hot and delicious. They do not serve fountain drinks. Can or glass bottles only. Also don’t ask if they sell locks because they don’t. (You can buy some a few doors down) overall great food and good service

The first bad food experience we’ve ever had in our lives. I’m not sure how, but the grey steak felt like chewing chicken and the chicken felt like chewing a mistake. The chicken was pink, the enchilada sauce tasted like two day old pasta sauce, but half as good, and the sauce on the plate was burned to it, meaning it was clearly microwaved. You can taste the can when you eat the beans and the rice was so bad. Somehow, the best thing we got were the canned sodas, and they still tasted off. 8/10 chips and salsa tho

The food here is amazing. We stayed in a hotel and were searching for a nearby restaurant to get food because we were really hungry. This one was nearby the river walk so we tried it! OML! AMAZING! Their prices are reasonable and ther food is PHENOMENAL! 10/10. If we are ever in San Antonio again we will be eating here! The lady also told us facts about the area and places to visit around the river walk area! 10/10

We found them!! The best tacos al pastor in San Antonio!! And I’ll say that until someone proves me wrong!! Avoid the tourist spots if you want really good and authentic Mexican food. This place is where the locals go, and now that I’ve eaten there, I know why!! The prices are excellent, the service is fantastic and the food is what I’ve been missing on my San Antonio trips!! Count in seeing us a lot more often! Thank you!!

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast tacos before getting married and it held a special place in my heart for that.
Today I made it a point to stop and have lunch there since I had jury duty, and I’m so sad to say we will not be returning. From the get go I as sat at the table and saw a small baby roach crawling in the table, I swiped it away and thought nothing of it because let’s be honest it’s downtown, not even a minute after swiping it off there was another little baby crawling towards me again. This is where I should’ve trusted my gut and left, I still wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt.
I said as long as my food is good I’m good, I even had one of the ladies wipe the table down when my food was brought out to clean the “dirtiness” I felt from the other 2 I swiped off. Food didn’t take long to come out and I was super excited to eat because I was starving and craving mini tacos and the borracho beans. Before I could put the spoon in my mouth I saw it, a roach mixed in with my beans. I should’ve followed my gut and left after seeing the babies in the table but I really wanted to save keep this place as a fond memory but now it’s just all gross and nauseating.

Ok…hear me out lol This place looks “sketch” from the street level entrance, but “don’t judge a book by its cover” holds true on this place newscasts the service was excellent and food was DELICIOUS!!!!! We *almost* “passed” on eating here even though it had been recommended by where we were staying (Club Wyndham La Cascada) just because the location looked rough from the outside, but that would’ve been a mistake and our loss. It only looks that way because the building is old and located in downtown. Give it a chance, and your stomach with thank you! We had a party of 9 ranging in age from 2-yrs-old to 53, each opting for different items from the extensive menu, and NONE of us were disappointed. We left very full and extremely satisfied…thank you!

Best chile rellenos I’ve ever eaten without doubt. You can usually tell how a Mexican restaurant will be when the salsa & chips appear on the table. With first taste the salsa was perfect: spicy & full of flavour. Our chile rellenos were freshly made and totally delicious. The decor is simple but the food is authentic Mexican cuisine. We were so happy with our meal, thank you.

Food is good but for chicken need to be more cook. I visited in afternoon hour so temperature was pretty high and mist fan is needed which some of restaurants have and some don’t. So must look after it before you choose restaurants to eat.

Service was quick and friendly. Fajitas were huge and fair price. Great spot if you’re not into the tourist trap restaurants around the Riverwalk.
