We stop and ate dinner here while visiting Sauk. We sat at outside patio, the ambience was awesome! Lily our server was the best, very attentive and GREAT customer service. Made us feel welcome and valued. Tacos & margaritas were awesome! No wait time, food and drinks came out quick. Thank you Lily!!

The food was good, however, I thought that if they added twice as much refried beans, rice, lettuce, and tomatoes on the side, that it would’ve been much better. I would’ve been willing to pay extra for that. Overall, it was a good experience.

Best authentic Mexican restaurant in the area. Great prices, great food, great staff. Always so kind. Wish they offered chips and salsa to Togo orders, for little to no charge. But their prices are so good, I don’t mind paying. Tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and guacamole are all fresh and delicious.

Mexican restaurants are literally in every town. Right up there with the fast food chains except with great food. This one was so good to me. I love GREAT flautas that won’t rip your mouth when you bite down on them.
Let me set this up. Audio-they were playing great Mexican music to really put you in the mood to chew and enjoy. Our first time here, and I really wish they were closer. Great people. Outstanding food.

La Mexicana’s Carne Asada Burrito Suizo is incredible! The margaritas are excellent, the meal is super affordable, and the flavors are unbeatable.

My husband always says if you are what you eat he would have been Mexican a long time ago. Seriously though we eat a lot of Mexican food! This place was so amazing! We got basic steak and chicken fajitas but everything from the tortillas to the rice and beans were exceptional! The meat was big juicy chunks instead of the tiny strips most places serve. The guacamole tasted like it was just made with big chunks of avocado. I can’t recommend this place enough! I wish I lived closer but was just passing through.

Very laid back and comfortable. GREAT food. I have never been disappointed. Sometimes the service is a little slow but other than that I love it there.

Have been coming here over 10 yrs now.
Since I’m from out of town, don’t get a chance to taste this excellent cuisine with any regularity.
Today I had the chicken and cheese quesadillas, with lettuce & tomato on the side.
Also a taco with ground beef, and a tostada with chorizo – Mexican sausage. The tostada was piled high with lettuce, tomato, and sour cream.
Served with Salsa Verde and red taco sauce on the side, and a Pepsi.
Everything was prepped to perfection & absolutely delicious. All fresh ingredients as I’ve known for many years now.
Try their corn tamales if you can, very fresh and made with chicken, beef, or chorizo.
The decor is very much an expression of Mexican national spirit, with beverages you’d expect (Modelo beer). I posted pix of the paintings by artists- hecho en Mexico. All the colors are rich and vaguely reminiscent of the murals of José Clemente Orozco & Diego Rivera.

We found this place out of the blue back in October 2020. The food was tasty. The chips were fresh and crunchy. Yes, the salsa was hot as well and well wash with a cold beer. Definitely stopping here again when we visit Devils Lake this year. Bonus. Nice view of the Wisconsin River if you eat at the back of the restaurant.

Good food, good drinks, great staff and atmosphere. I like the Burrito Suizo if I want a burrito the size of my foot. Chimis, flautas, and enchiladas are also great. Also, HORCHATA!
