Staff is always so kind and friendly. Their salsas are fantastic – roja or Jalisco (if you like spicy) are the best I’ve tried – even bought the bottles to take home.
Tacos, gorditas, tortas, and pozole are some of my favorite. My family likes everything we’ve ever tried here and enjoy being a repeat customer.

This review is long overdue! I used to come here often for lunch while working nearby, and it quickly became one of my favorite spots in Libertyville. The food is always delicious and full of flavor.
What made the experience even better was the service. Enya especially stands out—she always welcomed me with a big smile and open arms, even on the busiest and most hectic days. Her kindness and attentiveness made every visit feel special. Even when the restaurant was short-staffed at the busiest of hours, she went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of.
The atmosphere is lively, the food is consistently amazing, and the staff is truly wonderful. La Mera Mera is the kind of place you look forward to returning to again and again.

Steak Fajitas were tender and plentiful. Corn with cheese and mayo appetizer was delicious. Good to go with the chips and salsa. Chili relleno taco was great. Big and moist. Flan to go was smooth and delicious and guava cheesecake was great!!.

It was tooooo good, I forgot to take a picture that’s how good it was.. . Service was good she refilled our chips and brought us salsa when she noticed we ran out. The horchata was very good, probably the best I’ve ever had not going to lie!!

I ordered my burrito online and went to pick it up within less than fifteen minutes of ordering it. I drive back to work to eat my burrito, as I open the burrito it is cold to the touch. I called the store to see if this is how they serve their burritos and the person on the phone said no it’s supposed to be hot. The only thing that she was able to do was offer me offer me store credit vs a refund. I told her this was my first time coming to this place. Because my co-workers told me that this was a good place for burritos, as I am not from this area.I am from chicago and I am used to hot burritos. I unfortunately told her I will not be coming back.So a credit will not be necessary. Just lost out on some money. Smh if I was the cook, I would be ashamed to serve this to anyone.Please to the owners make sure your cook is paid well.

Tried this cozy little Mexican eatery this past early November and was quite pleased with the quality of food here.
Great Mexican fare all around at still reasonable prices, loved the margaritas, service is welcoming & friendly and the dining space is cozy & clean.
Another go-to spot to add onto the Mexican category and if ever in the area again and have that particular craving, will most definitely stop back in.

We just had a great, low-key, local experience here at la mera mera! Across two of us we tried four different tacos, a Gordita which was incredible, a seasonal dessert, and two drinks. Food was good, reasonable, and our server was super friendly. We will be back!
