An italian shop that you need to try. They serve amazing seafood risotto, somehow they managed to cook it so well that the seafood sweetness in the risotto was so tasty! The buffalo mozarella pizza and linguini pasta was good too. Perfect to go with a beer. If you have some extra space, try the creme brulee as well.

I dined here three times during my stay in Cambridge, and every time was charmed by both the service and the amazing food. Highly recommend this off the beaten track gem!

FINALLY an authentic Italian restaurant. Many years living in Cambridge and we just discovered this place and had a lovely experience. The service was superb, the food was incredible and we even got a bread basket. We will definitely be back again!
Vegan options: many! I had the risotto e piseli (risotto with peas) – a generous plate of creamy risotto. Super recommended.
I’ll be back to try more dishes 🙂

Italian Restaurant with history
Food was generous in portions but not too crazy. The pasta tasted standard but not enough to wow.
The desserts were an impressive surprise. Generous portions. Fluffy tiramisu and creamy smooth creme brulee. Not crazily sweet.
The restaurant is quite old history, but inside was amazingly clean and well maintained. Quiet environment. Roomy and clean toilets.
The service was good. Food delivered quickly, despite being a busy day.

Our first dinner date was here some time ago, and we had a great time. We still come back for a lively night and consistently good food. You can’t go wrong with the pizza or pasta, and the wine list is solid.

Exceptional food, charming service, cosy and authentic atmosphere.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience eating here. The waiter was very accommodating and despite the restaurant being rather busy, the food was served in good time. The pizza was fantastic, as were the desserts. We will be back, I suspect many times.

Fantastic meals expected at La Margherita! Staff cannot be friendlier. Their pasta sauces are exceptional and not overly expensive. The deserts are good however could be improved a little to make all courses accurate and exceptional!
I recommend getting garlic sourdough as a starter, tastefully done.
My favourite go to authentic Italian restaurant in the City.

La Margherita Is a lovely restaurant. Family run and part of Cambridge for several decades. The pizzas are fabulous. The service is very pleasant and efficient. And the Umbrian Artisan beer is great. A delightful treat and reasonably priced.

La Margherita hosted a conference dinner for our group of 15 and were extremely easy to deal with, allowing us to pre-order in advance and to add guests as needed. Service was friendly and quick and the food was delicious. The set-menu is well-priced and offers a wide range of items. Staff were especially good at dealing with dietary requirements. Many thanks!
