It has been awhile since I’ve been enthusiastic about any meal I’ve had in Bellevue/Seattle. This experience single handily changed that and made me feel eager to try new places again.
We had the Limeño cibeche, Chingon tiridito, Papitas Peruanas piqueno, Lomo Saltado, tres leches de coco, and chocolate cake. As drinks we had the Cancha OF, Viracocha Skies, and Chicha Morada.
Service was exceptional and everyone was friendly and helpful. The meal started with house made potato chips and the most incredible onion cilantro salsa I’ve ever had.
Everything was exquisite, but there was something over the top about the preparation of the octopus in the cebiche and the perfect balance between sweet/acid/spice in all of the dishes. The quality of the fish was excellent and the portions were perfect for sharing. The sleeper hit was the Chicha Morada! While it’s billed as a “spirit free” cocktail, was maybe one of the best beverages I’ve ever imbibed. I can see why it’s spirit free, because if they added alcohol to it, it would be dangerous.
I can’t wait to go back and do their tasting menu. Definitely an experience worth waiting for.

Second time eating here – both times were great. I was surprised by how much I loved the eggplant off the vegetarian menu – more than ceviche I ordered. My friends also enjoyed everything they ordered. Great customer service, free parking is a nice bonus.

May have been the best meal I’ve ever had in Bellevue. We had wonderful time at La Mar. I never imagined we’d have fine dining experiences in Bellevue, but La Mar hits all the marks. Service was fantastic, the presentation beautiful, and food was outstanding. Reminded me of the experience dining at a bib gourmand in Copenhagen.
Cebiche – gotta order, I enjoyed the classic and Nikkei the most. We tried 4-5 small plates which were all delicious. For mains we had fresh fish (rockfish) and Mariscos and aeropuerto all were delicious. Sommelier was so approachable and gave us some great parings.
Will definitely dine here again.

Had dinner at La Mar Cevichería Peruana in Bellevue and it was a hit. Parking is under the building so you walk around to the entrance, but it is worth it the moment the food hits the table. The flavors are legit, fresh and full of that real Peruvian touch. Loved that they offer samplers so you can try a mix of dishes without guessing. Everything we tasted was on point and beautifully done. Easy five stars and I am already planning my next visit. Highly recommend.

Food Quality: 4.5
Food Value for Money: Average
Service Quality: 3
Service Value for Money: Low
Price Range: $100+ per person

Overall
The food is fairly standard for Peruvian cuisine and represents a classic, old-school Miami style. Service quality is below average. The front desk staff was unprofessional and impatient despite the restaurant not being busy. After being seated, we waited 30 minutes before being served chips, and only after reminding them. After finishing the main course, we waited another 20 minutes for dessert, which still hadn’t arrived.

Dining out is partly about paying for the atmosphere and service. Due to the excessive waiting time, this restaurant will not be on my return list.

Arroz Con Mariscos — $42.00

Seafood Rice
Similar to what you’d find at most upscale Peruvian restaurants. The portion is on the smaller side, and the flavor is decent but not outstanding. Not particularly memorable, but solid for a fine-dining Peruvian restaurant.
Worth trying if you really love seafood rice.

Pulpo Crocante — $38.00

Crispy Octopus
Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. One of the more satisfying dishes we ordered.
Recommended.

Galbi-Jjim Short Rib Adobo

Korean-Style Braised Short Ribs with Two Small Servings of Kimchi
Nothing special and not recommended. Very average—something you could easily find in Koreatown. The beef is tender, but good Korean restaurants do this just as well. Not impressive for the price.
Realistic value should be around $55 at most.

Cebiche Atrufado — $48.00

Truffle-Flavored Ceviche
Generous amount of truffle. Quite acidic in flavor. The mixed pickled vegetables add a nice crunch. I specifically asked and was told the seafood had been previously frozen for parasite control.
Worth trying once.

Saratoga Mineral Water — $9.00
They ask upfront if you want still water; if you say yes, it’s automatically $9. You can ask for hot water instead.

2.5% Employee Well-Being Surcharge (2.50%)
I asked whether there were any additional or mandatory charges, and the server said no. However, the bill still included a 2.5% “employee well-being” surcharge.
Despite the poor service, we still tipped based on the standard percentage.

Absolutely excellent restaurant! The food was bursting with flavor. Every dish had depth and freshness that made it truly memorable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, taking time to explain each dish and recommend options that suited our dietary preferences.

It was our first time trying Peruvian food, and it exceeded all expectation. Extraordinary taste with layers of flavor in every bite. A fantastic dining experience from start to finish. Definitely coming back again!

We ran here after the game. The ambiance is nice and relaxing. The food was good but not spectacular. I have been to the one in San Francisco. The presentation and the attention were of a higher level. My waiter didn’t even offer us dessert, he just said there was last call on drinks. We are Peruvian and like to try Peruvian restaurants when we travel out of state and out of the country.

I had such a great experience at La Mar in Bellevue! The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. I ordered the arroz con mariscos (seafood rice), and it was fantastic, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. I also really enjoyed the chicken skewers and patatas fritas, and the burrata was so creamy and fresh.

The raw fish dishes were excellent as well, really high quality and beautifully presented. I tried the Sammamish Spritz (non-alcoholic), which was refreshing and flavorful. For dessert, the chocolate cake was rich and satisfying, the perfect way to end the meal.

They also brought out some root vegetable chips with a tasty green sauce to start, which were addictive. The atmosphere is modern, sleek, and vibrant, and it’s a great spot for a nice night out. Plus, they validate parking, which is a huge bonus in Bellevue.

Overall, I highly recommend La Mar. The food, service, and ambiance all came together beautifully.

We have yet to have a bad experience here. The staff is always very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The atmosphere is fantastic, makes you feel like you’re doing more than just being out for a meal
All of the the beef dishes have brought us joy. We often opt for one of the specials because we’re easily influenced by staff! Lol
The unique approach to ceviche is the true star of the show and the pisco cocktails are the perfect accent.

Not greeting host (no hi, no hello ? I came here to deliver ? Why I need to explain I am here for dine and introduce by muself) so uncomfortable and unkind starting.
Cakeage fee $25 for 2 people. Overcharged for birthday night. Starting was so so bad experienced.
Foods was all weird blended. Mayo greasy fried rice. You can find way better fine dining around here.
2.5% employee well-being surcharge ~ why the client pay and the employer doesnt pay for that ?
